A flat and firm stomach is not only aesthetically what we all strive for, it is also an indicator of good health because the stomach is the center of the body and, among other things, together with the back muscles, is responsible for proper posture. And the path to a toned stomach is now easier because it has been scientifically proven which exercise is best for strengthening it.
Abdominal fat deposits are extremely unhealthy because they accumulate in the abdominal cavity and surround several important organs. That's why scientists took on the task of investigating how certain types of exercise affect the removal of centimeters from the stomach and waist.
In one study, subjects performed four different exercises per week. One group of subjects performed four static cardio exercises and strength exercises, while the other group performed two static exercises and two high-intensity interval training sessions.
Scientists have come to the conclusion that high-intensity interval training is the best for getting a flat and firm stomach. The group of subjects who performed high-intensity interval training not only lost more body weight, but also lost more inches around the waist, as well as significantly more abdominal fat compared to the group that did static exercises in the gym.
Scientists conclude that the biggest plus of high-intensity interval training is that short and intense exercises are performed, during which the body works to its limits, thus promoting the breakdown of fat tissue from the stomach, reports Beauty and Health.
