The Swiss financial center Zurich is still the most expensive to live in among the world's big cities, and the cheapest is Egypt's Cairo, according to the annual list of the Swiss bank UBS.
Among the 77 cities ranked, Los Angeles was rated the best in terms of purchasing power for the average worker's salary. Residents of Los Angeles can afford a quarter more than residents of New York, according to the study.
According to the purchasing power factor, Zurich is in second place, New York is tenth, and London is 23rd.
By comparing data for the 11 largest cities, UBS calculated which one is best for younger residents in terms of buying today's "must-haves" including iPhones, laptops and Netflix subscriptions.
According to this parameter, the most expensive is Hong Kong.
A couple who goes out to dinner, drinks a bottle of wine and watches a movie at the cinema will pay the most in Tokyo, New York and Stockholm, while the most suitable for going out are Prague, Mexico City and Rio de Janeiro, reports B92.
