How to combine beautiful and useful, hobby and business? Milica Petrović (22) has the right answer - start making unique jewelry!

"I started doing this business two years ago, out of the desire to have something unique, just for myself. Later, it turned into a hobby, my friends asked me for this and that, as desired, and that's how it all started. They are not series, but exclusively unique examples of necklaces, brooches, earrings, bracelets", says young Baranka, who after graduating from the High School of Economics and Hospitality now works in the hospitality industry.

Two or three other people are currently engaged in this profession in Bar.

Milica says that she knows them all and that they normally socialize and exchange experiences and ideas, without any jealousy, "our styles are totally different, the materials allow us to express ourselves in our own way".

"The first jewelry I made were earrings, I have them to this day and I wouldn't sell them for anything in the world. I use various materials, wooden, glass and plastic balls, and I like to work with the fine one the most - it is polymer clay, because it allows me to fully express myself and turn ideas into action. As I do everything with my hands, I also shape balls and cubes, that's why fine works for me," says Milica, adding that she bakes the clay in a special microwave oven.

Interesting, colorful, unique

She doesn't make her jewelry, which her friends say is "interesting, colorful and unique," every day: however, this is still primarily her hobby.

Sometimes he devotes several hours a day to his hobby, and sometimes he takes a break for five or six days, "it all depends on the inspiration".

He says that the jewelry he makes is only bought by girls, "the guys didn't bother"

Her ambitions in this field extend to a professional approach: she hopes that her hobby will grow into a business from which she will have income and be able to live.

He is not satisfied only with having talent and hardworking hands, but also wants to build on the achieved results professionally.

That is why she attends workshops at the Biznis Stat-Ap Center in Bar, where she received training in decoupage - the art of decorating with decorated paper, and she is already applying the acquired experience in practice.

"As far as financial profitability is concerned, I sell jewelry through my Facebook page, and some of my friends wear it in their companies, which is also good advertising. The cheapest piece costs one euro, the most expensive 15 euros. Of course, there is jewelry that is not for sale, and pieces for which I cannot achieve the price I want", concludes Milica.

Material from abroad

"I supply the material from everywhere. Polymer clay is rarely available in Montenegro, it is expensive and almost as a rule I get it from abroad. I also order some of the materials online from America. Until now, I have not exhibited my jewelry at fairs. "I don't have any premises, the Facebook page is enough for marketing now," says Milica.

He says that the jewelry he makes is only bought by girls, "the guys didn't bother".

"So far, only the two of them have bought necklaces for their girlfriends," says Milica jokingly.
