After finding a passport at the last minute, leaving the house in a hurry, going through the rigors of airport checks, airplane passengers can finally relax. Then the disgruntled baby decides it's a good time to exercise his vocal chords.
Wealthy passengers on some Malaysia Airlines flights will have the chance to fly in peace after banning babies from staying in first class. The airline, which operates out of Kuala Lumpur, has already imposed its controversial first-class ban on its Boeing 747 jumbo jets, the Daily Mail reports.
It has also been announced that there will be no baby seats installed in the first class area of the new Airbus A380 Super jumbos, which will gradually replace the Boeing on some of its busiest routes.
General Manager of Malaysia Airlines - Tengku Azmil said that they introduced the ban after complaints from passengers who were awakened from sleep by crying babies. Passengers with babies will instead have to book a seat in economy or business class, which are equipped with infant seats.
The ban will apply to flights from Kuala Lumpur to London, Amsterdam and Sydney.
It was also reported in February that airlines including British Airways and Virgin Atlantic were considering opening routes where babies would be banned.
