The effectiveness of one's exercise regime is also determined by the exerciser's personality, so the more creative people prefer physical activities outside and have a big problem with exercising in the gym, according to the results of a new study.
The results of a recent study presented at this year's conference of the British Psychological Society, the research included more than 800 people from several countries and found that those who are more extroverted prefer to exercise in the gym.
People in whom reason dominates stick to the exercise plan more than those in whom feelings are primary.
More creative people prefer outdoor activities such as cycling and running and almost despise working out in the gym.
"What we wanted to say is that it depends on your personality type whether you are for the gym or not. It is naturally a burden for someone. An exerciser who goes to the gym with such a mood will not have long-term results," says John Haxton, one of the authors of the study, reports B92.
