There are several physical symptoms that can help you identify stress, according to nutrition experts.
Charlotte Watts, author of The De-Stress Effect, claims that the body will absorb nutrients faster under stress, which means it will become less effective and tired over time.
Stress can be a trigger that is often associated with vitamin and mineral deficiencies, such as bleeding gums and white spots on nails.
"Different dietary choices can help replace used nutrients, but also reducing sugar and stress means that nutrients are preserved and stored for when we need them most," she says.
According to Watts, every symptom in stressed patients is almost the same – and it's mostly a vitamin deficiency:
Chapped lips (vitamin B6), teeth grinding (vitamin B5), white spots on nails (zinc), constipation and diarrhea (magnesium), bleeding gums (vitamin C), spots on legs (vitamin E), throat and lung infections (vitamin A).
In addition, the results of the study showed that women who experienced stress from traumatic life events were at greater risk of obesity later in life.
The only bright side of stress is that the increased dose of cortisol, the so-called stress hormone protects the cell from aging and reduces the risk of degenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's, reports B92.
