Lack of sleep for many inevitably means fatigue, lack of energy, irritability, poor concentration...
If we slept regularly and sufficiently, we would certainly feel better, we would work better, and there is a high probability that our weight would be lower.
However, what we need to know when it comes to sleep - it should not be too little, nor too much. How much sleep do you really need?
The answer is between 6 and 8 hours. Anything more or less than that hurts you more than you think; not only will you be sleepy, but your brain will also age prematurely.
According to one study, people who sleep an average of 7 hours performed better on a reasoning test compared to those who sleep less than 6 and more than 8 hours. Researchers think that a regular sleep routine, which includes sleeping for about 7 hours, helps to reduce the cognitive decline that inevitably occurs with age.
The older people get, the less sleep they tend to get. If they could manage to maintain seven hours of sleep throughout their lives, it would prevent the memory loss they face as they age.
Just lying in bed doesn't count. You need about 7 hours of quality sleep each night to function properly and keep your brain young. Both your mind and your body need regular sleep.
So don't stay awake too long, Radio Sarajevo reports.
