There are certain foods that are not only allowed to be eaten late at night, but will also help you fall asleep more easily.
In the fast-paced times we live in, the least we need is a bad night's sleep. There are foods that you should not eat before going to bed, but there are also foods that are even recommended.
Evening snacks should be low-calorie and slow-burning, and if you eat something rich in calories before going to bed, fat deposits will only become more pronounced.
For this reason, we offer you several food options that promote sleep.
Almonds
They contain magnesium, which promotes good sleep and relaxes muscles. Nuts are high in calories and have a high fat content, but they will alleviate hunger and provide the body with the necessary proteins. Almonds could be your last meal before going to bed, but make sure you don't overdo it. One handful will be enough for you.
Tea
Avoiding caffeine before bed is the key to a good night's sleep, and there are some decaffeinated teas. Chamomile tea is very useful, and green tea is also a great choice, as it contains tannin, which helps to make us sleepy. Again, make sure the tea has no caffeine.
Dairy Products
Yogurt, milk and cheese do not contain tryptophan, but they have surprising properties when it comes to sleep. Calcium is effective in reducing stress and stabilizing nerve fibers.
Oatmeal
Although everyone is synonymous with eating oatmeal for breakfast, it is also a great choice for dinner. It is rich in calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, silicon, potassium and, simply put, it is very soothing.
Boiled eggs
One of the possible reasons why you can't sleep at night is because you are consuming simple sugar-rich carbohydrates rather than protein. To prevent a drop in blood sugar levels while you sleep, two hard-boiled eggs are always a good choice. Of course, not every day, reports Radio Sarajevo.
