Preparations for the fashion show of the iconic British fashion designer Vivienne Westwood, which will take place on May 31 in front of the walls of the Old Town in Budva, are nearing the end, and Olja Milacic from the Murano agency promises an "evening to remember".
"Eighty percent of the work has been completed, in the end we need to organize the arrival of guests from London, Croatia, and Serbia. The technical production and other details are also nearing completion, and I hope that we will soon close the financial construction as well. The organization of such an event is complicated, but so far we are doing well", Milačić points out.
Finding sponsors is made even more difficult by the expansion of fashion events in Montenegro, and Milačić points out that compared to them, the Westwood fashion show requires much more money.
"Today in Montenegro, there are a lot of fashion events that do not require so much financial resources and preparations, in general, so their budgets are lower compared to this one or the Cavalija show, which we organized last year. What we are doing is much more demanding and complicated, but fortunately today there are people who recognize big projects, so we have roughly closed the financial construction thanks to partners from the region", explains Milačić.
She did not want to reveal how much the event will cost, for which the Tourist Organization of Budva allocated 20.000 euros.
"This is the promotion of the state of Montenegro and we must invest joint efforts to make the result better", she believes.
The event will be attended by 440 visitors, and one of Vivienne Westwood's conditions was that it be held indoors, so a special structure will be built in front of the Old Town for that occasion.
"They don't do outdoor shows, but they look fantastic. That's why we will do our best as far as the technical part is concerned, so that people can enjoy and see what they haven't had the opportunity to do so far. There will be a large led screen with, for the first time, serious video production. We received very demanding technical conditions from the producers from London, which will be fulfilled by the Sky corporation", Milacic points out.
That evening, 70 to 85 of Vivien's male and female models will be presented, and a fashion show by Marko Mitanovski will be organized.
"Marko will present the collection that visitors in Budva will see that evening at London Fashion Week in September. His protector is Severina, who will be with us that evening in front of the Old Town," Milacic promises.
30 models will do the fashion show, and in addition to the girls from Montenegro, models from the Serbian agency Fox and several from Croatia will be engaged.
"Last year, at Cavali's casting, for all those we thought would pass, they didn't and other girls were chosen. People from the global fashion industry don't care if the model is beautiful, it's important that she has posture, gait, appropriate build, professional behavior and, most importantly, that the model is presented in the right way," says Milačić.
If the financial structure of the event closes, the tickets for the show will be donated.
"We start the campaign from May 1, and we plan to give away tickets. However, whether and how many of them will be able to be bought, I cannot say for now, because we will only sell them if we lack funds", concludes Milačić.
The day after the fashion show, everyone who wants to buy the Vivienne Westwood model will be able to see, try and book them at Splendid.
The designer eats only organic food and never gets on a plane
Vivienne Westwood's arrival is currently unknown as she is not traveling by plane. The organizers presented her with Montenegro as an ecological country, because lately the creator has been taking care of that.
"We are hoping for her arrival, but if she doesn't show up, chief creative director Đorđe Ravacio and Carlo de Mario, who run the business and tailor for her, will come. Vivien turned to other jobs, trying to change people's consciousness, she started to deal with ecology. She promised that if she doesn't come, precisely because Montenegro is an ecological country, she will record a few messages for us," says Milačić.
Due to her awareness of healthy living, only organic food is on Vivien's list of requirements.
"We also have special invitations that were made as part of the climate revolution, and the ecological art director of her company designed them for us. We had to do everything according to their protocol and we must not deviate from anything that was not chosen by them," reveals Milačić.
