What characterizes the term "man of style" for you?
I believe that this can be said for people with a good upbringing, educated and with a necessary dose of humor. So, it is often about the intellectual context and the ability to recognize how to behave in which situation, and to make it at the same time dignified and interesting, and special.
Do you follow fashion or do you not pay attention to current trends?
I don't follow fashion at all, and especially not trends. Of course there are things I like and things I would never wear or buy. I'm not into shopping and wasting time in stores. These are mostly rare and necessary actions, which are completed in record time. I even usually buy several of the same items at once, so that when one wears out, I can immediately move on to the next one!
Do you have a favorite fashion designer and who is it? Which brand do you prefer to wear?
I don't really know what any of them do. Therefore, even when I watch fashion shows, and that is extremely rare, I mostly look at beautiful women, because I don't find anything particularly interesting in clothes. By the way, I probably wear Levi's 501 most often.
What clothing item do you not regret spending money on? How much did the most expensive one cost?
I like to have a good winter boot and keep my feet dry, warm and comfortable. I often had a problem with shoes, because already in elementary school I had a shoe size of 46, and then there was no choice like there is now. My foot has grown a bit since then, so even now I can't find adequate shoes easily, so that's what I wouldn't regret if I paid more to get what I want. I don't remember what was the most expensive, but I think it was a winter jacket, about 500 marks!
Do you and how often do you use the services of a beautician and which ones? By the way, what is your position on this matter?
I have never used the services of a beautician, I even object when I have performances on TV that the makeup artists touch me at all or I demand a minimum of their intervention. The latter only in case the producer complains that my bald head shines a lot on the screen because of the lighting. I have nothing against people doing what they like and what makes them feel better.
Favorite perfume?
I have to admit that I'm not even a fan of perfumes and I rarely use them, so I don't understand them either. I prefer the smell of clean, washed and soap-scented skin, which can only be felt when you are extremely close to someone. Therefore, my message is that we do not spread any smells around us!
Who for you is the embodiment of the term "man of style" and why?
Basically, it's Eric Clapton because of the way he plays and sings, it's Federer because of his incredibly poetic playing, it's Churchill because of his intelligence and wit, it's Kundera because of the ease with which he speaks to us, it's Chaplin because of his irresistible charm... There really a lot of them, but none of them is because of the jacket or the watch on the wrist, least of all because of the hairstyle and waxing done...
And when it comes to women, it is?
I am one of those people who never notice or remember what someone was wearing. I love women because of the way they look and act. In this sense, the women whose style I like, and in fact it is the look, or rather the way of sending waves around, are for example: Raquel Welch, Diane Keaton, Meryl Streep, Shades, Monica Bellucci, Whitney Houston... These are women who have shown style in various ways! Of course, I don't mean dresses or waxing again!
The most interesting comment you received about your appearance?
I can't think of negative comments, probably because I don't attach importance to it. Here maybe, I remember that on one occasion when we were filming a TV show, and I was wearing a colorful shirt, the editor returned the recording 7,8 times, and in fact the message was to take off that shirt. So that others would not wait, I took it off, although I don't believe that I would do the same now, because it is completely abnormal for me that when someone calls you to introduce yourself somewhere, they suggest what to wear, what to say, how to look... If you listen to them, then it's not you anymore, but anyway we live in a time of heavy acting!
