After graduating from the shoe design school in Florence, interning in Bologna and learning her trade in Tuscany, Tamara Pelević from Kotor is engaged in a unique and interesting business in Podgorica - the production of unique women's footwear, and more recently leather goods.
She told "Vijesta" that she makes shoes to order, only from quality leather.
“Ladies usually come in with an idea of what kind of shoes they want, but we always consult and adjust. It takes me at least two days to make a pair of shoes, and the price is from 100 to 200 euros. We are talking about uniques. I tried to adapt the prices to the area in which I work, and considering that I produce by hand, I think it is not expensive. In the end, no one is forced to buy in my store, if they think otherwise,'' said Pelević.
She claims that she has always had a passion for shoe design. In the beginning, it was her hobby, but she wanted to improve herself and do that business.
For three years, she had a shop in Tuscany for the production of unique pieces.
Pelević was satisfied with the interest of her clients, but still decided to return, primarily because she wants her children to grow up in Montenegro.
"If women from different continents like my shoes and are happy to wear them, why wouldn't ours also want them in their collections," she said.
She claims that it turned out that she was right - in her shop "Tamara Luma" in the City Quarter near "Delta" Podgorica ladies who want to wear different, unique shoes regularly come. Tamara pointed out that some, satisfied with the quality, return several times.
More recently, she has been producing leather goods – handmade belts, pendants, briefcases, bags and bracelets. Their design is unusual, done in different colors.
The store where Tamara exhibits is also her workshop.
He says that men also come who want to give their better halves unique shoes, because "they know how much of a female obsession they are."
Quality leather, no complaints
Pelević pointed out that she buys the material in Italy, always from the same suppliers, because she is sure that it is high-quality leather.
She said that women from Podgorica are most looking for shoes in dark and brown colors, with or without heels, pointing out that she has had no complaints so far. He plans to make ankle boots and boots for the winter.
On the shelves in her store are displayed shoe models of different designs, colors and with unusual accessories. If one of the ladies wants such a model, but the size does not suit her, Tamara will adapt it to her foot and affinities.
She pointed out that she agrees with the customer on every detail, including whether they have any problems with their feet.
