The President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović and especially his wife Milena received a number of compliments related to their appearance during the inauguration.
On this occasion, fashion designer Milena Đurđić told Vijesti that styling the President of the country and the first lady for the inauguration is the most responsible and, in that sense, the biggest design challenge: "The head of state represents and symbolizes his country, the public's eyes are also on the first lady, and it is , therefore, it was necessary to weave Montenegrin historical symbolism in a subtle way, to show courage, but also decency, without offensive glamour, presenting itself as modern, contemporary, European, which should send a message about the country they represent".
According to her, the creations must be imbued with symbolism, meaning, and messages, and on the other hand, the protocol of colors, form, and all the details for such an event had to be taken care of.
"The strategy of harmonizing colors, construction of clothes, details that carry symbolism are elements that should be brought into perfect harmony, because only in this way can we achieve a visual effect and visual communication that sends a clear message to the world," explained Đurđić.
She was inspired, as she says, by the lines of our anthem "Oj svijetla majska zoro" - and the birth of the sun and the valer of colors as the sun rises. "I chose one particular blue - between a light blue and a blue," she says.

"The flower on the first lady's dress was taken from the Montenegrin folk costume, but I modified it into a modern one with a 3D effect. The same flowers are details on the sleeves. And the draping on the dress has its own meaning - new paths, guides to something new and faith in good for all of us."
"President Jakov Milatović wore a three-piece suit with three pockets. The blue tie and blue pocket square, in the color of First Lady Milena's dress, apart from the design effect, also has a message of the importance of preserving the strength and unbreakable bonds of the family, the traditional values of Montenegrin society," the creator specifies. .
A royal blue double-breasted suit was chosen for the afternoon reception.
Double fastening, explains Đurđić, leaves an impression of formality, elegance and pride, it is often called a magnificent fastening, and the construction itself contributes to the emphasis of the shoulders, the firmness of the body and exudes a subtle boldness, which is suitable for a festive moment.
"It was a special honor for me to be trusted to, for the first time, as a Montenegrin designer, participate in the visual creation of the appearance of the president and the first lady at the inauguration, which is a hint of turning to domestic production, and for me, an incentive for further efforts to create a national brand," Milena Đurđić emphasized.
