The representative of Nicaragua, Shanice Palacios (22), was chosen as the most beautiful woman in the world at the 72nd Miss Universe competition.

For the first time, women mothers and two transgender candidates took part in the competition held in El Salvador.

It is the first victory of the representative of Nicaragua in the competition for the most beautiful woman in the world.

The representative of Thailand, Antonia Porsild, was chosen as the first companion, and the representative of Australia, Moraja Wilson, was chosen as the second.

Palasios (23), received the crown from last year's winner, American R'Boni Gabriel, Miss Universe 2022.

Colombian Maria Camila Avelja (28) and Michelle Cohn from Guatemala are the first two mothers who participated in the Miss Universe competition, whose organizers wanted the competition to be more open.

Avelja managed to be among the five finalists.
