What effect a glass or several glasses of wine will have on your body depends on many factors, especially on its variety. By knowing some details, you can protect yourself from unwanted calories and even improve the condition of your body, writes Grazia.
Black wine
One small glass (about 175 milliliters) of this wine contains on average about 148 calories. That's as much as a handful of almonds or a packet of popcorn. A large glass - 250 milliliters - already contains 211 calories, like a spoonful of peanut butter or a plate of apples. And there are 644 calories in a bottle of wine - which in terms of calories corresponds to a cheeseburger with a portion of fries. Of all varieties, red wine is the most nutritious, but also the healthiest. It contains nutrients (resveratrol and quercetin - the strongest antioxidants) and, according to many experts, can be used as a prevention of cardiovascular diseases.
Bijelo wine
A 175 milliliter glass contains 142 calories - about the same as one large banana. A large bottle contains about 605 calories. We can say that this is a whole serving of caramel ice cream. Unfortunately, in addition to the rich taste, white wine has a few advantages - it has significantly less useful substances than black.
Pink
Do you like to drink chilled rosé on the weekends? Keep in mind that a small glass - almost like red wine - will bring you 147 calories. Think about it, maybe it's worth replacing the wine with a cup of your favorite cappuccino? In terms of calorie content, these drinks are the same, but wine makes it harder to sleep, while coffee, on the contrary, can give you extra energy.
