Foods that are natural antibiotics have been used for this purpose in folk medicine for centuries. Below we present some of them.
Of course, these foods are not a substitute for antibiotics prescribed by your doctor. They have antibiotic properties, but they are by no means on the same level as medical and targeted prescribed preparations. They can prevent or alleviate inflammation and strengthen immunity, but if you struggle with inflammation, everyone should consult a doctor, she writes with satisfaction.
1. Garlic
It has been proven that the chemical composition of garlic, including allicin, exhibits antibacterial activity. Garlic has been used for centuries to fight infectious diseases, and its antibacterial properties were first described in the mid-1800s. It is most effective when consumed raw, and lightly chopped. Namely, when we chop it up slightly, enzymes are released from it that turn into the aforementioned allicin, and we can add it to cheese, sauce, and the like.

2. Onion
Onions are a common ingredient used in food preparation, and they contain powerful flavonoids that act like antibiotics.
To increase its effectiveness, it is good to slice it and let it stand for a few minutes. This process will increase the excretion of phytonutrients, which makes onions count among the natural antibiotic foods.
3. Oregano oil
Oregano oil is one of the most powerful antibacterial essential oils because it contains carvacrol and thymol, two antibacterial and antifungal compounds. Research shows that oregano oil is effective against many clinical strains of bacteria, including Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

It is also a good source of pectin, vitamins A, B6, C, E, thiamin, lycopene, niacin, pantothenic acid, riboflavin and beta carotene. .
It's often recommended to drink it in a glass of water with honey added, but if the taste of a spoonful of apple cider vinegar dissolved in a glass of water isn't an option for you, an easy way to get it in is by adding it to salads.
5. Ginger
Ginger has strong anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Numerous studies have shown that it helps prevent flu and colds, and has a very favorable effect on the digestive system. Tea is most often made from it, and it can also be freshly grated and added to many dishes. Keep in mind that its taste is very intense, so you should be careful about the amount you consume.
