The day of voluntary blood donation will be organized on December 15, 2021, in the gallery of The Capital Plaza center, from 9 a.m. to 14 p.m., in accordance with epidemiological measures. Join the action, so that the year 2021 is rounded off with one humane act! Anyone interested can apply via online forms, until December 13, 2021 at 16 p.m.

• Blood is the only medicine of human origin. Blood transfusions save lives every day. In Montenegro, the daily needs for patient care are 150-200 units of blood, which represents just as many voluntary blood donors, he says Dr. Nela Erakovic, Head of the Blood Collection Service of the Blood Transfusion Institute of Montenegro. OThis year, blood consumption is much higher compared to last year; 150 units of blood are prepared daily just for the needs of the Clinical Center, so the need for donors is much greater.

Blood is given in hospitals to the injured, who have lost a certain amount of their own blood due to injury or illness, to patients undergoing major surgery, as well as to patients being treated for malignant diseases or severe anemia of any cause. As a socially responsible company, UNIQA Insurance, in cooperation with The Capital Plaza Center, traditionally organizes the Day of Voluntary Blood Donation for the sixth year in a row, in order to contribute to the functioning of the health system of Montenegro together with employees and citizens.

• The action of UNIQA Insurance and The Capital Plaza Center represents a significant support for the Institute in providing sufficient quantities of safe blood for the needs of all citizens of Montenegro, for regular treatment, emergencies and emergency situations. On behalf of the Institute, I would like to express my great gratitude to the organizers, because this is precisely the period when it is necessary to renew supplies and prepare them for the upcoming holidays, when the possibility of providing them is the most difficult. I hope that this action will be a good example for others to show social responsibility and care for the community and thus help a large number of patients, whose lives depend on this medicine, said Dr. Erakovic.
