It is popular for its simplicity and flexibility, and is often made for its nutritional value and pleasant taste. It can be eaten as a snack, breakfast, or dessert.
Ingredients:
3 ripe bananas
1/3 cup melted butter
1 teaspoon of baking soda
a pinch of salt
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups flour
chopped dark chocolate, nuts or dried fruit, as desired
Preparation:
Heat the oven to 180°C. Grease a bread pan (about 22,5 x 12,5 cm) or line it with baking paper.
In a large bowl, mash the bananas with a fork until completely smooth.
Add the melted butter to the mashed bananas and mix well.
Add baking soda, salt and sugar to the banana and butter mixture, then mix everything.
Beat the egg and vanilla, then add them to the mixture, and mix everything well again.
Gradually add the flour, mixing until combined, but take care not to overmix so that the dough is not rubbery.
If you wish, you can add chopped chocolate, nuts or dried fruit at this stage.
Pour the mixture into the prepared mold and smooth the top with a knife or spatula.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the middle of the banana bread comes out clean.
Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
You can serve it alone or with a little plain or some nut butter and fresh chopped fruit or jam, it says Danas.rs.
