On Monday afternoon, at Mar-a-Lago, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán spoke with the newly elected US President Donald Trump, Elon Musk and Michael Volz. The Hungarian delegation was joined by Minister of Foreign Affairs Peter Sijarto and Gelert Jasai, president of 4iG Group, which owns the company One Crna Gora.
One of the main topics of the conversation was the presentation of the HUSAT satellite program, which was developed by the 4iG Group. This initiative is the first in Central and Eastern Europe that deals with the development of telecommunications and Earth observation through satellites, financed by private investments. The program relies on the Space Technology Manufacturing Complex, which 4iG Group and Remred are currently building in Martonvášar, Hungary. Starting in 2026, this center will produce satellites in low orbit, weighing up to 400 kilograms. In addition to reviewing the plans for the 4iG satellite program, the participants also discussed the possibilities of developing artificial intelligence, as well as strengthening cooperation between Hungary and the United States of America in the commercial and technological fields.
Reflecting on the meeting, Gelert Jasai, president of 4iG Group, pointed out that the talks took place in a cordial and constructive atmosphere, and that they represent an important first step towards expanding cooperation. Such efforts, he emphasized, can contribute to the adoption of the most modern technologies and the strengthening of economic ties between the two sides of the Atlantic.
