As in the previous year, all employees will be paid their 13th salary, while 16 colleagues who have worked in Okov for more than 20 years will be paid bonuses of 10.000 euros each. With this gesture, the company once again confirmed that care for employees and continuous support are the foundation of its long-term success.
The warm and friendly atmosphere, by which the meetings of employees in Okovo are otherwise recognizable, is seasoned with other recognitions. 12 workers who are celebrating their 30th anniversary this year were presented with valuable wristwatches as a reminder of their successful journey together. In addition, the 2024 best employees in various fields in XNUMX were announced, and they received a traditional weekend trip called "The best love a challenge". In order for the excitement to be complete, fun was also organized.Wheel of fortune", where the four luckiest received gift vouchers with a total value of 1.000 euros, and a seven-day paid vacation for one employee and his family was also awarded.
Behind these gestures is the whole story of the growth and development of a brand that has occupied a special place on the domestic market for 30 years. Okov was founded in 1994 by a married couple - Stanka and Gojko Bajović, in the family house in Podgorica. They started with the sale of hardware and screw goods, and over time the assortment grew to over 50.000 products for the workshop, garden and household. Today, customers often say that they can find everything here—"from a needle to a locomotive." In addition to Montenegro, Okov also started successful operations in Serbia in 2019, and the long-term goal is further regional expansion.
At the ceremony, through a short address, the company's new major investment was announced - the construction of a shopping center on the former Radoj Dakić premises. The project was conceived as, as the founder of the company stated, his "life's work" that will contribute to the recognition of Podgorica and Montenegro. In addition, the plan is to move into a new logistics center, in the building of the former "New Tobacco Plant", which, as they point out, will facilitate further expansion and supply of all sales facilities. It was also noted that the company intends to further strengthen its presence on the Serbian market, carefully choosing new locations.
The traditional festive annual celebration of the company with 560 employees from Montenegro has thus become an image of the values that Okov cherishes - quality and fair treatment of people, innovation and willingness to make strides. This is precisely why an increasing number of employees in this company can boast of jubilee awards for long service.
