In preparation for the opening, the company announced a competition for 40 jobs za deputy managers, warehouse workers, forklift drivers and WMS administrators. The new 16.000 m² warehouse combines innovative logistics and environmental awareness. The roof of the facility will be completely covered with solar panels, making the logistics center energy-self-sustainable. The use of the latest generation Warehouse Management System (WMS) will enable precise inventory management and optimization of work processes, while state-of-the-art equipment will provide warehouse workers with a comfortable work environment. This infrastructure sets new standards in logistics not only for Okov, but also for the entire industry in the region.
Strengthening regional presence
The opening of the logistics center in Podgorica is an important step towards achieving the company's ambitious goal of becoming the largest DIY system in the former Yugoslavia. Following the successful launch of the central warehouse in Belgrade in 2023, the new facility will further improve delivery speed for the entire retail system, as well as for growing online sales in both markets.
30 years of success and investment in people
Okovo recently celebrated a big anniversary - 30 years of successful business, and the new logistics center symbolically confirms their commitment to development and sustainability. The company, which has built its success on a positive work culture, continuously rewards loyalty, which is reflected in the large number of employees who receive awards for service longer than 10 and 20 years. In the last two years, all employees have been paid a 13th salary, and long-term team members (20+ years of service) received valuable bonuses of 10.000 euros each.
The company says that the new facility is not only a logistics hub, but also proof that Okov is building the future on innovation, sustainability, and quality interpersonal relationships.
