Keković Estate Winery triumphs again – 5 medals in Germany

Keković Estate Winery, which appeared on the market only three and a half years ago, has achieved incredible success by winning as many as 38 awards at the world's most prestigious wine competitions, including Decanter, Mundus Vini, CWSA, AWC Vienna, Balkan International Wine Competition and Paris Wine Cup, Concours mondial de bruxelles

They achieved particular success this year at the prestigious Mundus Vini competition, where all five wines submitted were awarded medals – four gold and one silver. Gold medals were won by Radovan 2020, Merlot 2020, Sauvignon Blanc 2024 and Vranac 2022, while Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 took home silver.

Mundus Vini, one of the most important wine competitions in the world, has been held in Memmingen, Germany since 2001. At this prestigious event, more than 12.000 wines from 46 countries are evaluated each year, which makes the success of the Keković Estate winery even more impressive.

Although the Keković family has been producing wines for more than four decades, the Keković Estate brand was officially established in 2018 with the establishment of the company Keković Estate CO doo, while the first products were placed on the market in 2021. Today, this winery is one of the fastest growing in Montenegro. They started in 2019 with a modest production of 5.500 bottles, but thanks to dedicated work and a clear vision, by 2023 they managed to increase production to as many as 50.000 bottles and processed 85 tons.

There are currently nine labels of Keković Estate wines on the market: Chardonnay, Rose, Sauvignon Blanc, Vranac, Merlot, Radovan, Kratošija, Cabernet Sauvignon and the premium label Vranac Limited. When they first entered the market, they had only three labels, which further testifies to their rapid development and expansion.

In addition to top-quality wines, the Keković Estate winery also produces extra virgin olive oil. The estate currently has 330 young olive trees, and their product has already been recognized internationally – at the Noćnjak 2025 event, held on Rab, Croatia, the extra virgin olive oil won silver in the blended variety category. Future plans include expanding the olive groves to 1.000 trees, so they can enter the market with this product as well.

The Keković Estate winery is not only a wine producer, but also the center of wine tourism in Montenegro. Since 2023, just 10 kilometers from the center of Podgorica, visitors can enjoy a variety of tasting formats. A step forward has been made in the offer, and the tasting begins with a tour through the wine processes, and these can be organized with a snack, a buffet or through a top-notch fine dining experience where food and wines are carefully paired. In all offers, the emphasis is on authenticity and quality, using only products of Montenegrin origin, and the winery actively supports local rural households, especially from its surroundings.

One of the most original projects that the Keković Estate Winery has launched is the educational format "Wine School", the first of its kind in Montenegro. This format allows participants to gain knowledge about viticulture, wine production, the art of tasting and wine etiquette, while raising awareness of wine culture. Over the past year, over 150 participants have attended the Wine School, while more than 1.500 people have visited the winery in all formats.

The ambitious plans of the Keković Estate winery do not stop here. In the next two years, they plan to intensively present and promote their wines at fairs throughout the region, with the aim of successfully positioning themselves on the regional market by 2026. With this pace of growth and commitment to quality, there is no doubt that Keković Estate will continue to delight wine lovers and become one of the leading brands in the region.
