It is a vision that goes beyond the boundaries of the field and medals. A vision in which sport is an instrument of solidarity, equality, education and national pride.
Over the past two decades, MOC has positioned itself as an example of responsible, strategic and open leadership. It is precisely thanks to this commitment that Montenegro, despite its limited resources, has managed to be recognized as a credible actor in the international sports community.
The key strength of this vision lies in its continued investment in people. Through more than 20 active projects in the past four years, MOC has covered areas that have often been neglected: women's health in sports, digitalization of sports federations, education on athlete protection and safety in the sports environment.
MOC's vision relies on international partnerships and institutional stability, but is primarily based on values such as respect, solidarity, integrity. Through program work and strategic decisions, we are focused on building a sustainable sports system that can withstand all the pressures of today.
From inspiration to action: Women's leadership in sport
Sport has long been a space where women's talent is recognized, but not always supported. The Montenegrin Olympic Committee is determined to address this injustice not only with words, but to act systematically, consistently and visionarily.
By introducing a quota of at least 30% women in management structures, MOC has set a clear standard. Equality is not an ornament in documents, but a measure of the legitimacy of every sports organization. Based on this principle, the national Women's Leadership Program in Sport will be developed, and thanks to partnerships with Olympic Solidarity, IWG Women in Sport, European networks and domestic institutions, MOC also conducts training that addresses the specific challenges of women's sport - from the lack of access to infrastructure, through misunderstanding of the female cycle in the training process, to the prevention of violence and sexual harassment.
From sports fields to digital platforms: Game-changing innovations
In an era where sport increasingly relies on data, algorithms and new technologies, the Montenegrin Olympic Committee recognizes innovation as the key to sustainability and progress. Digital transformation does not mean losing the human aspect of sport, but rather allows sport to be more accessible, inclusive and safe.
Special emphasis is placed on the health of female athletes, through multidisciplinary approaches that include hormonal cycles, mental health, injury prevention and adaptation of training plans. Through partnerships with Harvard Medical School and international experts, specialized education programs and digital knowledge bases have been developed for medical and training teams.
Technology is also used to combat invisible threats, such as abuse, results manipulation and doping fraud.
Through the development of digital education in the field of athlete protection and youth empowerment, MOC clearly demonstrates that innovation must serve ethics.
As a leader in the region, MOC has shown that small countries can be great innovators. The key is to understand the needs of the sports system, listen to the voices from the field, and translate them into solutions that have a measurable and lasting impact.
