On Goli Brdo in Sutomore, together with Montenegrin scouts, water polo players and employees, the first thousands of seedlings were planted as part of the largest corporate reforestation in the country. By the end of next year, when the first Montenegrin mobile operator celebrates its big anniversary, the "Forest of Heroes", which is being planted across the country in honor of our firefighters, will have 30 thousand more trees.
"When we say 'One Tree Counts', we mean the fact that every tree counts, especially given the bitter reality that our country burned last summer. As a company that always prioritizes the environment, we wanted to do what we can that has real value for all of us. By the end of our anniversary year, we will have the largest corporate reforestation in the country," he pointed out. Branko Mitrović, executive director of One.
"This action is more than just planting - it is a lesson in responsibility, togetherness and caring for the future. We are proud to be part of creating this together with One and our athletes." "Forests of Heroes"", which will be a lasting reminder of the power of solidarity and the importance of preserving nature," he said. Borislav Jovovic, Chief Coordinator of Boranka and Secretary General of the Scout Association of Montenegro Gore.
On Goli Brdo, the One team joined forces with water polo players, who, even on the burnt slopes, showed that the same applies in life as in sports - the best possible result, which in this story represents the number of seedlings planted.
"We must fight for a healthy environment and clean air. Planting trees is our way of doing our best for the future," he said. Vučina Popović, water polo national team member and water polo player for "Budućnost One".
"After the fires we witnessed this summer, our task is to compensate nature for what it has lost. Along with the One team and our scouts, we - Montenegrin water polo players - are an additional pair of hands in this noble action!" he said his teammate in the national team and club, Petar Brnović.
Reforestation, the scouts know, only happens years after a fire. Nature has its own laws and the land must first be ready for new trees. In contrast, a fire occurs in a second, they said at the reforestation campaign.
"A fire can start in a matter of moments. All it takes is one discarded cigarette," Nađa Lalović from the Scout Association of Montenegro.
"Fires also occur due to the carelessness of individuals, and they cost us all - that's why, as part of our initiative, we are repaying our debt to our firefighters by creating a 'Forest of Heroes'!", she concluded. Ljubica Popović from the One company.
This forest will consist of all the trees that One users and children in Montenegrin schools will draw in the future through a specially designed "Boralica".
"With charcoal made from burned trees, they can draw their own tree and send a photo of the drawing to Boranka.me. This way, the little ones who are taught the culture of nature conservation by scouts in schools, just like the users of our network, will receive their own symbolic tree that will be planted as part of the reforestation campaign," she concluded. Jelena Marković Čađenović, communications expert at One, tying this noble story with gratitude.
"Through this initiative, we are actually expressing our gratitude to our firefighters, who this summer, as many times before, defended nature, people and property from the elements of fire. Each tree planted represents a symbolic thank you to these heroes, and all the trees that we will plant throughout Montenegro are connected in a symbolic way, calling them - The Forest of Heroes!", said the One team, reforesting Golo Brdo.
