1. How would you define Infinum's vision and mission - especially in the context of the Montenegrin market and the region?

Infinum's vision has not fundamentally changed since its founding. We want to be a trusted partner that helps companies solve complex challenges through technology. What has changed is how we achieve that vision..

Today, four years after opening the Montenegrin branch, I can say that our mission here has taken on a clearer shape. We are not just bringing in projects from global clients, but are actively building local expertise that can compete anywhere in the world. Our engineers, designers and project managers work on the same products, with the same quality standards, as our colleagues in Zagreb, New York or London.

2. What projects is Infinum Montenegro currently working on the most? In which industries do you see potential for growth?

Our team in Montenegro does not work independently on projects, but is fully integrated with teams in other locations. One engineer can work on a healthcare application for the US market and a fintech solution for a European client in the same year, which makes the job diverse and dynamic. At the same time, it provides a huge opportunity for career development. We are most engaged in the development of complex digital platforms for clients in finance, healthcare, mobility and energy. We also see great potential for growth here.

3. How do you approach talent development and work culture?

At Infinum, we pay special attention to talent development and maintaining a strong work culture. We believe that the key factors for a motivated and engaged team are flexibility and freedom in work, continuous feedback, as well as support through training budgets, mentors and team leaders who monitor the development of their people. We regularly conduct annual satisfaction surveys, monitor results through KPI plans and 360° reviews. In this way, we ensure that every team member has the opportunity to develop their skills and contribute to shared results, building a culture in which people want to stay.

4. How do you view the competition in the region?

Over the past 20 years, Infinum has placed a special focus on expertise, quality of delivery, reliability, and more recently, the broad portfolio of services we provide. As we continuously develop new services in the direction of AI, Data Engineering and Cybersecurity, we are moving away from the role of a classic development agency and becoming a long-term technology partner. The latest acquisition of AMR CyberSecurity will further enhance our expertise in this area. Together with the knowledge we have in developing AI solutions, I believe that this will be an increasingly important factor that will set us apart from the competition in the coming years.

5. What are the biggest challenges for IT companies in the region and how do you overcome them?

The biggest challenges are a limited talent base, market instability and increasingly complex client requirements.

When it comes to talent, we have chosen a proactive approach - through Infinum Academy, we build future experts ourselves. We address market instability by diversifying, both geographically and through expanding our service portfolio, such as the aforementioned acquisition of AMR CyberSecurity.

And the complexity of the requirements? I see that as an opportunity. The more demanding the projects, the less competition there is that can deliver them with quality.

6. Can Montenegro become a specialized development hub?

Absolutely possible. And progress is already being made. Montenegro has several key advantages: geographical position, time zone that allows working with the EU and part of the USA, and very competitive business costs. We are witnessing an increasing influx of foreigners engaged in IT jobs. This is not without reason.

Additionally, we are eagerly awaiting entry into the European Union. This will make business easier and enable work on certain projects that our people are currently unable to work on due to various regulations.

It's great that we have a lot of AI experts. In the last month alone, we've had two very high-quality events on the topic. This shows that the community is growing. Although a good part of the AI community works abroad, this does not prevent them from contributing to development in Montenegro. I'm sure that with such people we can be a recognizable point of development of AI solutions in Europe.

7. What are the priorities for Infinum's growth in the next 2–5 years?

Our top priority is strategic acquisitions. We are interested in strategically important markets such as the UK, EU and US, as well as companies that complement our existing areas of expertise or add new ones. Cybersecurity, data & AI and cloud remain key areas of investment. In the last three years, we have invested 11 million euros in acquisitions. Through an EBRD loan and reinvestment of our own funds, an additional 15 million euros have been secured for future acquisitions in the next two years, which are planned to finance the further growth and development of the company.

In addition to acquisitions, the focus is on strengthening specialized teams in the areas of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, and deeper integration of global teams. At the same time, we want our expert teams to work on projects from the initial idea to secure delivery, including strategy, design, development and security.

8. Your long-term vision for Infinum Montenegro - where do you see the company in five years?

I see a team that is twice as big. I also expect Montenegro to become recognizable as a location in Infinum where we have a team of AI experts. With the latest hirings we have had, I am sure that will come true.

I want us to remain an employer where people want to build their careers, but also to make a measurable contribution to the broader IT community in Montenegro.

9. How will global acquisitions, including AMR CyberSecurity, affect the Montenegrin team?

This is our fourth acquisition. I would say that we already have a lot of experience with integrations. Initially, we will give AMR more autonomy, as they have more experience and authority than us in the field of cybersecurity, and at the same time we will work on internal education, connecting with the rest of Infinum and harmonizing business processes. With acquisitions, in addition to additional expertise, we often get more reputable clients, which contributes to opening up new opportunities - both for the entire group and for the Montenegrin team.

10. How is Infinum adapting to trends like AI, ML, cloud, and cyberstandards?

Adaptation is not something we do reactively - it is a continuous process. We have integrated AI into every phase of product development: from prototyping, to code review, where AI automatically detects security vulnerabilities. Engineers retain control, but have a co-pilot for repetitive tasks.

For cybersecurity, the aforementioned acquisition of AMR shows how seriously we take this area. ML, Cloud and Data Engineering have been part of the offering for years, and now we are increasingly combining them with solutions that use large language models, i.e. LLMs.

11. What is the biggest success in your career and what motivates you?

I am most proud of the fact that we have managed to bring together great people in Montenegro who have proven that we can work on global projects from here. Among the greatest successes in my career, I am pleased to include contributing to the design and development of the Philips application used by millions of users, working on the application used by Porsche drivers, and creating one of the first AI agents in insurance companies.

In doing so, we have become a desirable employer that truly cares about its people, and this is evident through the results of satisfaction surveys and the fact that our turnover rate is extremely low.

It motivates me when we provide a platform for people who want to grow in a particular area of expertise. It often takes serious energy to open up new opportunities, but when you are surrounded by smart and ambitious people who are achieving great results in those areas, you get a tailwind that pushes you towards better things.
