The Entext Engineering company is leaving an indelible mark on the urban development of Montenegro thanks to ambitious projects that set the highest standards.
It is headed by Anđelka Milutinović, CEO, whose energy and expertise drive key developments in the company's work. As a woman at the head of a company in a traditionally male construction industry, Anđelka this year won the prestigious Top Women Business Montenegro 2025 award for the most successful small business under female leadership. This award is both a confirmation of her initiative, professionalism and dedication, and the values and standards on which the ENTEXT group bases its work. In an interview with Vijesti Magazin – Liderke, Anđelka Milutinović reveals what it's like to lead a company that simultaneously builds facilities, teams and the trust of the community, what the awards mean after decades of working in the "invisible zone" and how a female leader navigates a sector that is still predominantly male.
"Being a woman at the helm of a construction company in an industry traditionally dominated by men brings special challenges, but also unique opportunities. The biggest obstacles were the prejudices and skepticism that female leaders still face. To overcome them, you have to be consistent, professional, and persistent. I built my authority solely on results, high standards, and open communication. Over time, even the most stubborn skepticism turns into respect," says Milutinović. She found the inspiration to start and lead a construction company precisely in the challenge of creating a company from scratch, which she considers the crowning glory of her architectural journey: "I have always been driven by the desire to achieve visible and lasting changes - not only through projects, but also through the way they are implemented. The moment came when I realized that I had enough knowledge, experience, and courage to take on full responsibility and the leadership position I am in today. I love challenges and I believe that they are what shape me professionally." In addition to Serbia, Anđelka Milutinović has achieved professional success in Greece, the United Arab Emirates and Malta. Montenegro represented a new arena for her, where she wanted to test her limits.
“Here I was faced with a different mentality and business rules, but I once again confirmed that success is built on knowledge, determination and the ability to turn any environment into an opportunity,” she says. In recent years, Montenegro, like the entire region, has been facing a serious shortage of skilled labor, especially engineers. Finding quality personnel for the complex projects that Entext Engineering implements is a constant challenge: “During the selection process, we give everyone equal opportunities, regardless of gender. It is interesting that the majority of our employees have been with us from the very beginning, and today the team is dominated by female engineers.” Experience has shown that women are often more adept at managing a larger number of processes at the same time and have more pronounced diplomatic skills on the construction site.
"They are the ones who most elegantly resolve the complex relationships between all project participants. Their communication, empathy, and ability to build a team culture are invaluable. Women bring an additional dose of understanding and support to the dynamic environment of construction, resulting in not only an efficient, but also a harmonious team," Milutinović believes, adding:
"I would tell young female leaders not to let fear or doubt limit them - to believe in themselves, learn, build a support network, and never forget how important it is to stay true to your values, because they are the difference between a position and a true leader."
