The International Center for Learning Foreign Languages - Oxford, founded in 1987, is enrolling new students, and those interested can apply for the spring semester of 2026.
The only internationally recognized school of this kind in Montenegro offers courses English, Italian and German languages for all ages: children, elementary school students, high school students, youth and adults.
Director of teaching at that renowned educational institution Marko Lopicic says that classes are held in Oxford Center in Podgorica, but also business units in Bar, Bijelo Polje, Budva and Nikšić, to be carried out according to the most modern methods and curricula, that is, with the help of literature and textbooks that are used today in Oxford centers throughout Europe.
"Therefore, Oxford in Podgorica, Budva or Nikšić is in no way different from Oxford in London and other metropolises," points out Lopičić.
He says that Oxford also offers the possibility of learning foreign languages online, which, he explains, is an increasingly popular way of acquiring knowledge.
"People from the comfort of their homes and from other cities can follow the classes. We use the modern "Microsoft Teams" platform, which is interactive and offers the possibility of recording classes, that is, classes, which can be listened to later," explains Lopičić.
Learn from the best in a cutting-edge way
Teaching at the Oxford Center includes the study of all four language skills (writing, reading, listening and conversation), along with grammar and vocabulary by level, but as Lopičić says, the emphasis is on conversation.
"Interactive whiteboards, Oxford University Press literature based on the communicative method are used," says Lopičić.
All this is accompanied by professional staff without whom, as Lopičić points out, success would not be possible.
Lopičić states that experienced professors of foreign languages work at the Center, many of them are masters and doctors of science, who constantly improve their skills and competences through various seminars and educations.
"Our teaching staff, through constant training and improvement, implements teaching in a creative and, above all, interactive way. Our youngest participants learn a new language through play, acting, song, and this is where the effectiveness of the interactive language learning method is best demonstrated," explains Lopičić.
And while the youngest may learn foreign languages the fastest, Lopičić says that there are no barriers for the elderly either. That is why the doors of the Oxford Center are open, as he says, to everyone, from seven to 77 years old.
For those who already have certain knowledge, a free test is conducted, which consists of a written and oral component, and the initial level is determined.
International programs according to the standard of the Council of Europe
And all diplomas with the seal of the Oxford Center are as valid as certificates certified in London, Berlin, Paris or another metropolis.
It will be difficult to reach all these metropolises without knowledge of foreign languages, says Lopičić.
They say that a man is as rich as the language he speaks, and Lopičić adds that this is exactly why investing in knowledge is the best investment in the future.
His father Đorđe Lopičić was also guided by this idea when, back in 1987, he decided to invest the capital acquired in distant Australia in the development of knowledge of foreign languages in his native Montenegro.
Then the Oxford Center becomes the first private language school in our country, which, through the highest quality and most modern learning methods, confirms European quality standards and issues internationally recognized diplomas.
The Oxford Center has a large number of international recognitions, which, as Marko Lopičić says, are proof and confirmation of exceptional results achieved in the field of education.
Oxford Center is the only school with an EAQUALS license and under the auspices of the Council of Europe, and they are the first institution of its kind, a full member of the Association of High Quality European Schools from the Balkans.
"Since 2006, we have been a member of the Association of European High Quality Schools, the first in the Balkans and the only one in Montenegro. The seriousness of that organization is shown by the fact that, in order to gain access to the Association, we had to pass 168 rigorous requirements/standards that confirm the quality of teaching," said Lopičić.
In addition to this high recognition, Oxford Center is the first school from the former SFRY to receive the international ISO 9001 certificate in the field of education.
"We paid special attention to teaching quality control. Control exists on three levels: internal control, ISO 9001 and control by the European Association EAQUALS", says Lopičić.
Investing in knowledge - investing in the future
English language classes at the Oxford Center for preschool and elementary school students take place twice a week for 45 minutes. The price of a four-month tuition is 120 euros for 32 lessons, which means that the average monthly tuition is 30 euros.
Senior elementary school students, high school students and adults attend grades and classes twice a week in block classes of two school hours each (90 minutes).
For this four-month course, it is necessary to allocate 240 euros for 64 hours, which means that the average price of the monthly tuition is 60 euros. All payments are made in two installments.
The price includes the exam, and candidates who pass receive a certificate compliant with the Council of Europe standard.
For students who come to the Oxford Center for the first time, a test, or knowledge check, is mandatory, which is free of charge.
