This expansion comes just two months after the opening of Ryanair's base in Tirana and further confirms the company's long-term commitment to the Albanian market. The additional aircraft will enable increased capacity, better connectivity and the continued expansion of Ryanair's network from Tirana.
Ryanair inaugurated two new direct routes to Italy on June 1st, with flights to Parma and Alghero. Both destinations will be served twice a week, every Monday and Friday, providing passengers with additional travel options between Albania and Italy.
Italy remains Albania's largest aviation market, accounting for more than 40 percent of the country's total international air traffic. The introduction of these new routes further strengthens the connection between the two countries and responds to the growing demand for tourism, business and travel to visit family and friends.
The continued expansion of Ryanair's network contributes to the development of tourism, economic growth and greater passenger mobility, while further strengthening the position of Tirana International Airport as one of the fastest growing airports in the region.
With four based aircraft now operating from Tirana and an ever-expanding network of destinations, Ryanair continues to play a significant role in improving Albania's connectivity to key European markets.
Piervittorio Farabbi, Chief Operating Officer of Tirana International Airport, stated:
"The introduction of Ryanair's fourth based aircraft and the launch of new routes to Parma and Alghero further confirm the strong growth momentum of the Albanian aviation market. These steps provide passengers with more travel options, strengthen Albania's connectivity with Europe and support the further development of tourism and economic activities in the country."
