Three years after the launch of the Academic Program in Business and Economics (MONTEB), the first undergraduate study program in English at the University of Montenegro, the first generation of students is completing their undergraduate studies. This completes the pioneering phase of one of the most significant steps in the internationalization of higher education in Montenegro and confirms that the vision of creating an internationally competitive study program has been successfully realized.
"When MONTEB was launched, the goal was not just to conduct classes in English. The goal was to create an academic environment that would enable students to think globally, develop international competencies, and be prepared to continue their education and careers anywhere in the world," said the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Prof. Dr. Mijat Jocović.
International quality education begins in Podgorica – new generation enrollment in June
While the first generation of MONTEB students is completing their undergraduate studies and opening a new chapter in their academic and professional careers, the Faculty of Economics is enrolling a new, fourth generation of students in June.
They will have access to the same things that made MONTEB recognizable – classes in English, an international environment, professional practice and meetings with renowned experts, within a completely renovated and modernly equipped faculty space. With modern classrooms, functional zones for individual and team work, as well as a pleasant atmosphere for staying and socializing, the Faculty of Economics today offers students an environment that meets the standards of modern European universities.
The call for student enrollment will be available at the end of June at: www.monteb.me as well as on www.ucg.ac.me/ef
Knowledge. Practice. Opportunities.
One of the key features of the MONTEB program is mandatory professional practice, through which students have the opportunity to apply the acquired knowledge in a real business environment. Working in companies and institutions has enabled them to become familiar with the everyday challenges of business, develop professional skills and gain experience that represents a significant advantage in the labor market.
At the same time, students are provided with additional support options through reward and scholarship system the best students, in cooperation with numerous partners from the economy.
Open doors to international master's studies
For the first generation of students, completing their undergraduate studies also marks the beginning of a new academic stage. Teaching in English, an internationally oriented curriculum, developed analytical competencies, and experience working in a multicultural environment provide MONTEB graduates with a quality foundation for continuing their education in master's programs across Europe and the world.
"The greatest value of any study program is reflected in the opportunities it opens to its students. For MONTEB graduates, these opportunities today transcend national borders and lead to universities, research centers, and companies around the world," emphasizes Dean Jocović.
The program that changed the international image of the Faculty
In addition to students from Montenegro, the Business and Economics program in English in Podgorica is also the choice of students from Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, India... All of them have numerous opportunities to spend a semester or an entire academic year at a European university, through a mobility program.
However, the MONTEB program has also contributed to greater incoming mobility - the Faculty of Economics in Podgorica has become recognizable among international students coming from all over Europe through the Erasmus + mobility program, wishing to study in a multicultural and dynamic academic environment.
Together with students from Montenegro and other countries, they today form an international academic community in which experiences, cultures, and ideas are exchanged daily.
"The international classroom is not just about teaching in a foreign language. It is an environment in which students learn from each other, develop a global perspective, and create a network of contacts that will follow them throughout their careers," emphasized the head of the MONTEB program, Prof. Dr. Maja Baćović.
More than studying
MONTEB offers students an experience that goes beyond the traditional university education. During their studies, in addition to classes in economics, finance, management and business, students participate in conferences, professional workshops, panels and guest lectures.
Through meetings with domestic and international professors, researchers, and business experts, they gain insight into contemporary economic and business trends, developing critical thinking and understanding of global challenges.
We are opening our doors to the fourth generation of MONTEB program students in June!
