In order to improve the standard of living of all citizens, including the citizens of Podgorica, the holders of power at the state level and the constituents of the Even Stronger coalition - which consists of Europe Now and the Democrats continue with the policy of increasing pensions, especially the minimum ones, which is a key step in strengthening the social security of the oldest citizens of Montenegro Above.
The figures speak clearly - the standard of pensioners is rising!
According to the latest data, average pensions have increased and amount to 515 euros, while the minimum is 450 euros, which will directly and positively affect a large number of pensioners. With this increase, the constituents of the "Even Stronger" Coalition show their commitment to protecting the most vulnerable sections of society, with special attention being paid to pensioners with the lowest incomes.
The minimum pension in January 2024 was increased from 296 euros to 450 euros or 52%, which improved the standard for over 74 thousand pensioners. From January 2025, pensions will increase for both current and future pensioners.
Important!!! The formula for calculating pensions remains the same! The thing is clear, by increasing earnings, pensions can only grow!
Contributions for pension and disability insurance are not a variable included in the pension calculation formula, and their amount does not affect the amount of the pension. Never in Montenegro has the growth of average earnings led to a reduction in pensions. According to the PIO Act, there is no possibility of adjusting pensions to a lower level! The implementation of the ES2 program increases the earnings of employees, which also increases their pension base.
Pensions will grow for current and future pensioners! To calculate pensions, the most favorable personal point is taken and multiplied by 3 annual adjustments, which increases pensions from January 1, 2025! The personal coefficient for each year of service represents the ratio of the employee's gross salary for each year of service divided by the annual gross salary at the state level. Pursuant to the Pension and Disability Insurance Act, one quarter of the worst coefficients are excluded from the calculation, resulting in the most favorable personal coefficient used for pension calculation. The most favorable personal coefficient is multiplied by the total length of service to obtain personal points.
These personal points are multiplied by the value of the pension for 1 personal point calculated by the PIO Fund, which is adjusted 3 times a year like the pensions themselves. The value of the pension for one personal point only increases from January 1, 2025, which ensures the growth of pensions for both current and future pensioners!
The attitude towards pensioners is the best possible! Pensioners will finally be able to buy bread without mathematical calculations at the cash register!
Pensioners, who dedicated their working life to the construction and development of our Montenegro, deserve a dignified life in their old age. Increasing pensions will help many to more easily meet basic needs, such as the cost of housing, medicine and food, and thus feel more secure in challenging times.
Manipulations by those who kept pensioners on a miserable minimum - is 144 euros higher than 450 euros?
Pension growth faster than inflation: The government protects the standard of citizens
There is currently a kind of political manipulation in force, which consists of three steps. The first step is - deny it. All along, we had a phase of denying the existence of a program that would increase pensions. Second step - minimize. We are now in that phase and the third step - divert attention and that phase of political manipulation will come by the end of the year when citizens will feel changes and progress in their full capacity.
Despite the economic progress, it is no secret that the economic circumstances are complex, but let's look at the facts. Is a minimum pension of 144 or 450 euros better? Is the average pension of 288 or 515 euros better? The facts are absolutely clear.
The new government managed not only to keep up with the growth of costs, but also to outpace the costs with the growth of wages, in this case pensions. So, while prices increased by 158 euros, the minimum pension increased by 306 euros! This means that the new government was faster, stronger and smarter than inflation! Because while others whined about rising prices, the coalition made up of PES and the Democrats worked to increase pensions and wages.
Podgorica in safe hands or return to misery
Opponents of the Government and supporters of the former regime, instead of supporting the continued growth of pensions and pensioners' living standards, want to destabilize the government and return us to the past when pensioners barely survived on a miserable income. Their goal is clear - to overthrow the progressive government and return pensions to the level when pensioners could not live with dignity.
The opposition's manipulations, which belittle the current progress, clearly show that by returning to the old regime, led by the former regime, pensioners would once again have to live on 144 euros a month. Those who then neglected pensioners and kept minimum pensions low now want to take you back to that time, despite the fact that pensions have now increased by €306, faster than inflation!
While the Europe Now and Democrats coalition continues to improve the living standards of all citizens, the opposition only offers a return to the past. Pensioners are now in a better position than ever before, but by destabilizing the government, the opposition would return you to the minimum of 144 euros. Citizens, the choice is clear: either an increase in pensions and a better life, or a return to poverty.
