Budva, the former queen of the Mediterranean, in recent decades has become a symbol of political intrigue, corruption, quarrels and private interests. The citizens of this city witnessed years of injustice, abuse of power and the collapse of trust in institutions. Protests, tear gas, arrests, looting of property, usurpation of state land and affairs marked political life, leaving Budva with multimillion-dollar debts and construction chaos.
MUNICIPAL PRESIDENTS ROBBED BUDVA
During the rule of the DPS, Budva became synonymous with violence and repression: beatings of free citizens, theatrical arrests for traffic violations, endemic corruption and poisoning of Budva's youth with tear gas and shock bombs were an everyday occurrence. All this was carried out according to the instructions of Zoran Lazović, Milivoj Katnić and their helpers, the powerful men of that time, who are now in prison, accused of the most serious crimes in the field of organized crime and corruption.
The list of bad managers, bad moves and political scandals does not end there. Former municipal presidents Rajko Kuljača, Lazar Rađenović, Svetozar Marović, Milo Božović left a dirty mark on the fate of this city. They are accused of the criminal offenses of obtaining illegal benefits, abuse of official position and criminal association.
Only Svetozar Marović, by his own admission the head of an organized criminal group, and his helpers and members of the OKG, municipal presidents damaged the budget of Budva by 70 million euros! (during the construction of the Boulevard in Budva, the road in the village of Krapina, the Jaz plateau, the projects "Kopirajt i Properti Investment", "Zavala Invest", "Gugi commerc" and numerous other projects).
Even the former vice-presidents of the municipality are no exception - many of them ended up before the courts and behind the walls of Spu due to accusations of corruption and abuse of official position.
In contrast, the only municipal president who was not involved in affairs and who was not arrested in the municipality of Budva was Dragan Krapović. His administration showed that it is possible to lead Budva without affairs and personal gain, responsibly and professionally. Therefore, Budva is still looking for a new face, new energy and a leader who will bravely lead the city to a better tomorrow.
A WOMAN WHO KNOWS HOW TO SAY NO TO CORRUPTION AND DIVISIONS
Dragana Kažanegra Stanišić is the only female candidate in the elections for the president of the municipality of Budva. Unlike other parties that nominated the same persons for mayors, she is the only new person in these elections on behalf of the Democrats and Europe now. Dragana Kažanegra Stanišić is distinguished by the fact that she is a woman who is not connected to any affair, nor to any political intrigue or political quarrels that have dominated the municipality of Budva for the past few years, which resulted in extraordinary local elections. Behind it are not private companies or private interests, but only pure integrity and a vision of the development of the city.
While many politicians adapt their views to current interests, Kažanegra Stanišić remains consistent with her values, proving that politics can be an honorable profession. At a time when many have given up their belief in pure politics, Kazanegra offers a vision in which courage, honesty and consistency return to the forefront.
A NEW POWER THAT OPPOSES EVERYTHING THAT BUDVA HAS BEEN PAST
Dragana Kažanegra Stanišić and the coalition of Democrats and PES are the only real news in these elections.
While all other political actors perform as in the previous elections, with old structures and quarrelsome rhetoric, Kažanegra Stanišić offers something completely different. Her vision is based on responsibility towards the city and its citizens, but also on cooperation, dignity and courage to oppose the pressures of the powerful.
