Porsche presented the second generation of the Panamera sports sedan in Berlin.
The Panamera now resembles a coupe more, as the height of the roof above the rear seats has been reduced by 2 cm, while the wheelbase has been extended by 3 cm. Overall, the car is more stylistically related to the Porsche 911.
The interior has been significantly modernized. A large screen of the multimedia system was placed on the central console, and even the passengers sitting in the back got a smaller screen with controls for climate control and other functions.
Considering that it is a premium sports sedan, which will also be used for longer trips, the trunk capacity is quite large and amounts to 495 liters.
Among the numerous luxury options are a panoramic roof, seats with a massager, ambient lighting in the cabin, Burmester premium 3D "surround" audio system... An adaptive air suspension system is also offered, and for the first time, the Panamera is also available with a control system on all 4 wheels.
Motorization includes new turbo gasoline engines. The V6, with a volume of 2.9 liters, develops 440 hp, and the four-liter V8 in the Panamera Turbo has 550 horses. This version is also the fastest in the range, because it accelerates to 100 km/h in 3,6 seconds, and the maximum speed is 305 km/h. There is also a four-liter V8 diesel that has 422 hp and is the most powerful diesel Porsche in history. All engines are mated to a new eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The new Panamera can already be ordered in Europe, and the first deliveries are expected in November. The price in Germany for the basic Panamera 4S model is 113.000 euros, the diesel version costs 4.000 more, while the Panamera Turbo costs 153.000 euros.
Arguably the fastest on the Nürburgring in its class
When promoting the new Panamera, Porsche boasted that it broke the Nürburgring track record in the class of luxury sedans. The Panamera Turbo covered the 21 km circuit in 7 minutes and 38 seconds, which is a better result than many super sports cars.
The Panamera surpassed the time of its closest competitor, the BMW M17, by 5 seconds. Porsche claims that they did not make any modifications to the car and that the Panamera had standard factory tires on it.
