The police arrested Dzejmi Martinez (48) from the United States on suspicion that on October 29, in the Miločani neighborhood of Nikšić, he set fire to vehicles owned by Mlađen Božović and his daughter Jasmine.
As reported by the Police Department, it is suspected that Martinez poured a flammable liquid on the vehicle and caused a fire with an open flame.
"Police officers went to the scene immediately after receiving the report and informed the competent prosecutor about the incident. The police conducted an investigation of the scene in the presence of experts for fires, explosions and accidents. During the investigation, it was determined that the fire was on a Renault Megane passenger motor vehicle " and "frd fusion" planted, and a number of material traces were removed from the scene and sent to the Forensic Center for expert examination. As a result of the fire, the vehicles were completely destroyed, while the building suffered material damage."
The police state that the possible motive for setting fire to the vehicle is Martinez's disagreements with the Božović family.
"It is suspected that he planned and prepared this criminal act in detail. This is supported by the fact of his attempt to provide an alibi, in the way that on October 26 he left the territory of Montenegro at a border crossing with Bosnia and Herzegovina, so that on October 29 tried to enter Montenegro at the same border crossing on October XNUMX, at which point he was stopped by the border police and taken to the Nikšić police station. Through the criminal investigation, the police officers came to suspect that Dž.M., shortly after leaving Montenegro, illegally entered Montenegro, so after committing the criminal act he again illegally left the territory of Montenegro," the announcement states.
After being brought to the official premises of Dž.M. was taken to the Nikšić General Hospital, where he was diagnosed with injuries in the area of his hands and head in the form of burns, the time of occurrence of which corresponds to the time of the commission of the criminal act, the statement added.
