As announced, a so-called tourist house will soon be opened in Berane, where all those who make them will be able to display and sell their souvenirs.
Director of the Tourist Organization of Berane, Ivan Radević, explained that the house was built as part of the Let's Be Creative project, which the Municipality of Berane implements in cooperation with the Employment Office of Montenegro.
"That project aimed at professional rehabilitation and active employment policies for all unemployed people, especially people with disabilities," said Radević.
Project assistant Marijana Marijanović said that the Let's Be Creative project involved the employment of six people during the one-year duration of the project, as well as the employment of two people after the end of the project.
"Precisely with this project, the construction of a tourist house is planned, where two people who have gone through this program will work. In the tourist house, all the works that these women have created so far will be exhibited," said Marjanović.
Part of the souvenirs that were made in the home workshops of the visually impaired was recently exhibited in the Polimski Museum Gallery, as part of the celebration of the so-called White Cane Day.
"The participants of the Let's be creative project, who went through training in making souvenirs, jewelry and decorative items, also got the opportunity to show their creativity. People with disabilities are among the poorest, most vulnerable and most marginalized groups, and the policy of social inclusion was only recently introduced, which increased the participation of socially vulnerable groups in quality education and training for decent employment," said Marjanović.
The value of the Let's be creative project is 65 euros, and the Berane Municipality and the Employment Office are partners in its realization: "Vukadin Vukadinović" Junior High School and "Berane Tourist Organization".
Director of TOB Ivan Radević expressed his satisfaction that a so-called tourist house was built as part of this project.
"That house is in an extraordinary location, in the city center, right across from the Municipality building. It is significant that until now we didn't have a single place in the city to sell souvenirs, but tourists usually came to our offices for their needs and we practically shared what we had for free. By opening the cottage, the tourist offer of Beran will be significantly improved," said Radević.
