Skype introduces the option to record conversations

For more than ten years, "Skype" has not had the option to record calls, but Microsoft has announced that soon Skype users will be able to enjoy this feature, which will be available to everyone and includes both audio and video conversations. World media reports that this option will be in use already at the end of this month, from July 30.

In its announcement, Microsoft first introduced version 8.0 for desktop computers, and then informed all users of the popular communication platform that soon Skype will receive a new feature that will allow users to record calls, writes Gizmodo. The upgraded version enables recording within the Cloud, offering users the ability to access the recorded conversation via Windows, Mac, iOS, Android or Linux.

"Conversation recording works entirely via the Cloud, with the fact that immediately after the start of the recording, you will inform everyone in the conversation that you have started recording the conversation", they state from Microsoft, which means that there is no "secret" recording option.

“The moment you start recording a conversation, everyone will be notified that it is being recorded. The recordings will include video of all people, but also of screens, windows and links that are shared during the conversation," said a representative of Microsoft for "The Verge".

The new option to record conversations is a big and long-awaited novelty that Skype has not integrated since its release, almost 15 years ago. In parallel with the introduction of call recording, Microsoft also started experimenting with the "Content Creator for Skype" mode, which will make it easier for streamers and vloggers to integrate applications such as Xsplit, Wirecast and Vmix. Microsoft has also decided to redesign the desktop client with a slightly more modern interface inspired by mobile devices.
