You must have already heard the statements of certain powerful people that they don't have time for social networks like Facebook or Twitter because they are too busy making billions. The argument for such a claim is always the same - have you ever seen a billionaire's profile on Facebook? You didn't. But that doesn't mean that many of them don't use social networks.
The only difference is that Facebook is for "heaven", while those with at least six zeros in their accounts have a special place in the abyss of the Internet. Namely, just like in real life, on the Internet there are places where the rich "go out" and places where everyone else "goes out".
Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter or Instagram are really not places where you can find profiles of billionaires, which is why you will easily find them on the Forbes list of the richest, and the social networks where you can find them are not available to you.
And Small World, Square, Affluence and a number of similar social networks are reserved exclusively for the richest and have recently experienced a real boom.
These are networks where the wealthy elite discuss things and share experiences about things that average citizens don't even think about.
Membership by recommendation and million order
The membership fee, in contrast to the usual social networks, is not free, and the possibility of joining a "strange traveler" from the ordinary population is reduced to a minimum. Membership is generally obtained either by referral from existing and well-vetted members or you have to prove that you have several million dollars in your account. Because it is very difficult to fake both conditions, members of elite social networks are sure that they are among people who are just like them.
The most famous elitist social network is A Small World, founded nine years ago. Until recently, it functioned as a network where the influential and rich exchanged experiences, but these days it has become even more exclusive. From now on, thanks to membership, members can buy various luxury goods and services through this network, and as the network's offer is expanded, the number of its members decreases.
Specifically, special offers for buying expensive items will not be available for all members, and those who are not good enough for such offers will no longer be part of this exclusive environment.
And Small World will therefore be left without a bunch of members and will drop from 850.000 to 250.000.
The specificity of this club is that, upon entering the society of the chosen ones, members must hand over to the owners a list of contacts they have around the world.
Members are, of course, expected to have the private numbers of the most famous people in the world.
Affluence doesn't charge for membership, but unless you're a $3 million "heavyweight" or make less than 300k a year, there's no way you'll get access to the network.
Acquaintance with an old member of the network can possibly save you, but there must be at least five of them who guarantee that you are "worthy" of entering this exclusive circle of people.
Square is different in that it mostly offers a great selection of expensive things, which only those with a lot of money can afford. There is also the Island X social network, intended only for those who are constantly traveling somewhere and want to brag about it to the whole world.
Secret networks for the powerful from Davos
But that's not the end. Even among the most exclusive social networks, there are those that are so closed, that it is not worth even "google" them, because you will not get a link to it.
TopCom is a private communication platform for the 200 most powerful people in the world. It was founded last year at the World Economic Forum in Davos and is used exclusively by the participants of that forum, and of course not all of them.
Perhaps it will become clearer to you what kind of social network it is if we recall that among the participants were Bill Gates, David Cameron, Bill Clinton, Queen Rania of Jordan, Dmitry Medvedev, Angela Merkel, Al Gore, Tony Blair...
The Chinese choose the most beautiful
The practice of exclusive membership on a social network has not bypassed China either, which has perhaps the largest number of new and young millionaires looking for their place on the Internet. They don't even hide that they don't like Facebook or Renren, which is the Chinese version of Facebook, because people from lower social strata can also be found there. China's rich have their own social network P1.CN.
This social network has gone the furthest in the way it allows new members to join. The first is to be recommended by five members, which has already been seen on some similar networks, and the second is quite unusual, maybe even a little funny. Namely, the owners of this network have their own photographers who walk around the elite neighborhoods of Beijing and take pictures of young people who look like they are extremely rich.
Sometimes it is enough that they are just dressed in an expensive wardrobe, that they are handsome and beautiful. When the owners see the photos, they choose the ones they like the most and send them an access code so they can join the social network.
