The Montenegrin police received a donation worth about 344.000 euros from their colleagues in Germany.
As announced by the Police Administration, the most modern equipment in question will be used by officers of the Border Police Sector for border checks and surveillance of the green border.
The protocol on the handover of the donated equipment was signed by the Assistant Director of the Police Administration of the MUP of Montenegro for the Border Police Sector, Vesko Damjanović, and the Liaison Officer of the German Federal Police, Oliver Haas.
Damjanović said that this donation is a confirmation that the border police of Montenegro have exceptional cooperation with the police of Germany, not only in the part that concerns support in reaching standards in technical and material equipment, but also in the part that refers to the exchange of information and training that SR Germany provides officers of the Border Police Sector.
He pointed out that he believes this donation will significantly contribute to faster and more efficient border control.

The Police Administration announced that training will be provided for Montenegrin border police officers who will use the equipment.
The equipment donated today, which is also used by the police of European Union countries, consists of 60 border stamps, 56 special magnifiers for detecting forged travel documents, three thermal imaging cameras for detecting the movement of persons and vehicles at a greater distance, 10 mobile document readers that read documents when checking of travel documents in buses, six videoscopes for inspection and search of all hidden bunkers in vehicles and four devices for the second line of border checks.
The total value of the donated equipment is 343.800,40 euros.
The total value of the equipment that the Federal Police of the Federal Republic of Germany has donated to the Border Police Sector of the Police Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Montenegro since the beginning of this year is 543.800 euros, while the value of the equipment donated by colleagues from Germany, with the realization of another donation that is planned by the end of this year, at the end of 2018, for this year, amount to over 920.000 euros.
