Electric car manufacturer Tesla contacted the owners of 123.000 of its S-series vehicles for preventive replacement of certain parts.
The American company notified the owners of vehicles manufactured before April 2016 about the decision via email.
The manufacturer stated that parts of the controls have been observed to corrode more quickly than previously thought, especially in areas with very cold climates due to the use of a certain type of salt.
The vehicles were recalled as a precaution, and it will take about an hour to replace the necessary parts for each car.
Model S owners have been told they will be notified of the repair date and can drive their cars in the meantime.
No incidents have been reported regarding this issue.
