Roselyn High School on Long Island recently began a pilot project using iPads in some classrooms. Professors teach their students to use the device. A growing number of schools across America are embracing the iPad as the latest teaching tool, from step-by-step math with play to solving complex problems.
As part of the pilot program, Roslin School on Long Island handed out 47 iPads to students and teachers in two classes. The school hopes to be able to provide iPads to all its students.
The iPads cost $750 each, and they can be used in class and at home. During the school year, they can replace textbooks, allow students to be in contact with teachers, as well as to do homework.
