Through the "Norway for you - Montenegro" project, Norway supported the installation of new public LED lighting in four streets of the Begluca neighborhood in Gusinje.
Thanks to this infrastructural project worth 37.500 dollars, which was implemented by the Municipality of Gusinje, as announced, the safety of more than 800 residents of this settlement has been improved.
"Improving the infrastructure is one of the priorities of our municipality. With the support of the Kingdom of Norway, we managed to increase the safety of our residents who live in four streets of the Begluci settlement, because this part of the city is now illuminated," said the president of the Municipality of Gusinje, Anela Čekić.
The project included the installation of 25 poles and 700 milliampere lamps.
Thus, the energy efficiency of public lighting in Gusinje reached 15 percent compared to standards.
"In addition to the fact that this project provided better living conditions for dozens of households, it is important to highlight the domestic and responsible attitude of the local self-government in the implementation of the project. This also applies to future maintenance costs, because LED lighting reduces energy consumption by up to 70 percent," he said. is the manager of the project "Norway for you - Montenegro" Armen Čekić.
The municipality of Gusinje implemented this project as part of the Public Call for the development of local infrastructure, as part of the "Norway for you - Montenegro" project.
Norway provided $33.450, and the Municipality of Gusinje provided $4.050.
