The cooperation between the police of Montenegro and Turkey is of high quality, and the achieved results speak in favor of that fact, it was assessed at the meeting of the Acting Director of the Police Administration, Zoran Brđanin, with the Turkish Ambassador, Songul Ozan.
As announced by the Police Administration, the support and trust of Turkey is important both for the operational work and for the strategic improvement of the Montenegrin police.
"The exchange of intelligence data is the basis for preventing the challenges faced by all the countries of the world in terms of security, so Brđanin and Ozan stated that it is necessary to exchange operational information more effectively," the announcement says.
At the meeting, as stated, specific activities were agreed upon in the fight against organized criminal groups, drug smuggling, terrorism and illegal migration.
The Police Administration reminded that their members years ago had the opportunity to attend trainings that were organized with the support of the Turkish Embassy and the Turkish Agency for International Cooperation and Development - TIKA.
According to them, the most intensive cooperation is achieved in the area of border security and improving the capacities of the special police.
"The instructors of the Turkish police made a significant contribution to the professional improvement of the knowledge and skills of the Montenegrin police, especially in the field of establishing disturbed public order and peace on a larger scale," the announcement says.
