2018 tourists visited the capital in the first two months of 16.649, which is 50,11 percent more than in the same period of 2017.

Tourists, who mostly only spend the night in Podgorica, often use the services of private accommodation, hostels, because they are cheaper than hotels.

The receptionist of "Montenegro Hostel" Mladen Šoć said that they are most often visited by tourists from Belgium, Great Britain, Germany, France and Australia, who stay "to sleep before or after the plane flight".

"It also happens that they book accommodation for three or four days, even for the whole week, because they go hunting in Durmitor, Primorje and the like", said Šoć.

For one night in a six-bed room of that hostel you have to pay 10 euros, while the price for double rooms is 25 euros, and for three-bed rooms 30 euros. As Šoć said, accommodation is five to 10 euros more expensive during July and August.

Violeta Martinović, who rents out rooms in Gornja Gorica, said that foreigners rarely come, and that the most frequent guests are representatives of companies from Serbia.

"Foreigners stay overnight. A night in a double room is 20 euros, and in a single room 20 euros. "Many sell twice as cheaply, but I cannot go below that price, because I do business regularly and pay all duties," said Martinović.

Veselin Ulićević, who rents out rooms in Vranjina, said that foreigners are frequent guests, but they mostly stay overnight to rest. It was hosted by visitors from Singapore, China, Brazil, the USA and other countries.

"They stay for two or three days if they want to see Lake Skadar and its surroundings. They don't pay much attention to where they are going, they walk... One day Virpazar, and the next somewhere else," said Ulićević.

As he said, an overnight stay in a double room costs 30 euros, and 20 euros in a single room.

"In addition, tourists pay a residence tax of 90 cents. These are seasonal prices. If they stay a little longer, we lower the price", said Ulićević.

Cheaper apartments can be rented in various locations in the city for a day at a price of 15 to 50 euros, depending on the square footage of the apartment.

In Podgorica hotels, a night's stay for two guests costs from 40 to 117 euros, depending on whether breakfast is included.

The Tourism Organization of Podgorica (TOP) informed "Vijesta" that in the first two months of the current year, 28.214 overnight stays were achieved, which is over 41 percent more compared to the comparable period.

They announced that there is equal interest in private and hotel accommodation in the capital.

"A large number of tourists seek advice from us when choosing accommodation, directly in the Information Centers of the TO of the Capital City, but also during our presentations at tourism fairs. We have the opportunity to offer them, depending on their requirements, interests and budget, really diverse content", said TOP.

TOP also has a catalog of accommodation capacities that is regularly supplemented with new data, and they state that all information is also available through their web portal.
