Course of trial:
14:07 The trial continues on May 10 at 9 am. The hearing of expert witness Marko Lakić is planned
13:34 Attorney Radosavljević, I believe that Medojević was completely honest, that he spoke the truth and helped determine the factual situation.
13:29 The lawyers have no objections to Medojević's testimony.
13:26 Katnić said that he was sorry that they did not get answers to what was written in the information that Medojević received anonymously on October 9, 2016.
"'I am sorry that today all the questions were not fully addressed to see the precision and accuracy and the description of how many details there are. Today we heard that this information was received anonymously by mail. It was not said why certain information was destroyed and why it was not delivered to the prosecution . We had defendants here who never mentioned such a thing. We also had the witness Radunović to whom I asked the same questions. Radunović was clear that these were the knowledge that Medojević had. It is clear that today's testimony is incorrect. Now it is clear that "There was nothing personal in the expert testimony I asked for, but it can be seen that the witness is not capable of telling the truth. The fact that the DF prevented the gathering does not stand, it was done by the state through the then Minister Danilović and Metropolitan Amfilohi," said Katnić.
13:16 Medojević, answering Katnić's question, said that he informed the members of the DF Presidency when he received the information anonymously on October 9.
"But I didn't let them read it because the text was messed up, I had to systematize it and then I presented it to the Presidency".
13:12 The witness also said that he does not have accurate information from the US embassy that the ambassador was evacuated on October 16.
"I know the routine she had to follow," said Meodjević.
13:11 Medojević said that they had to send two messages to the final meeting of the Front on October 14, to motivate them to go to the elections in order to win and to give instructions not to go out into the streets because it was possible that the celebration could turn into bloodshed.
"We planned the celebration in the headquarters of our election committees," stated Medojević.
13:09 Answering the judge's question as to why they did not pass on the information that it was planned to injure members of the DF, Medojević replied that it would "cause chaos and panic".
"The information I presented today concerning the knowledge that there was a planned wounding of members of the DF was confidential and we did not disseminate it anywhere else. It would have caused panic and chaos and we would have done the same as the prosecution did."
13:04 Medojević said that the political conclusion of the DF is that the DPS will not hand over power peacefully.
12:58 The witness said that as a member of the Security Committee, he was contacted several times by people who provided him with information. He also said that he does not know their names and that he receives information anonymously.
When asked by Judge Mugoša how he knew that these were people from ANB, Medojević said that he would receive an anonymous envelope containing the information.
"I concluded that they were people from ANB because the pahuljica.ca code was mentioned. That's how I got the information about the listings," Medojević said.
He added that people bombard him with information every day, and he determines which ones are relevant.
12:57 Medojević said that he knew that Mandic would have a meeting with the Minister of Police, Goran Danilović.
"Danilović then told him that there was a danger to endanger the life of the DF leader. He added that no one should go out into the streets because of the danger to their lives. That was already knocking on the open door because we had already made that decision before. We were aware that the security services are eavesdropping on us. Sometimes we intentionally say something that is incorrect to test those services. Of course, those services later turn out to be funny because they convey something that is not true. We kept that earlier information together so that we wouldn't go out on the streets," Medojević said.
12:54 Answering the questions of presiding judge Mugoša, Medojević said that on 16.10. around 11 a.m. he was in the premises of the Democratic Front and that he went home after the meeting. He said that the DF presidency met again around 20 pm
12:48 The trial continued
12:18 A break was set until 12:45
12:09 Medojević explained that no state authority contacted him regarding Sinđelić's statement that he participated in his alleged assassination in Avala.
12:02 Answering a question from lawyer Medojević, the witness confirmed that as a member of the Committee he dealt with Russia's influence on Montenegro.
"We noted a strong influence in 2007 and 2013. Russian influence was not through the opposition, it was through the government, which Djukanovic also acknowledged by thanking Russia for the independence of Montenegro," Medojević said.
11:54 Medojević also said that the American embassy did not know anything about the coup d'état.
11:50 "According to the agreement with NATO, when there is a danger of endangering the interests of the Alliance and that the Russian service wants to change the government in Montenegro and prevent it from joining NATO, the obligation of the Ministry of Defense was to inform NATO through security channels. According to my knowledge, what happened later confirmed by the Minister of Defense, that the Ministry does not have any information," Medojevuić said.
He added that the problem was that ANB had no knowledge.
"NATO does not communicate with ANB, but with the Ministry of Defense to which ANB forwards information, and the Minister of Defense informs Brussels," Medojević said.
11: 46 Medojević said that if there are indications that there is even the slightest danger of a coup d'état in a country that is a candidate for NATO, the American embassy has incredible protection measures.
"The US embassy did not do any of that the day before the alleged Russian coup. This means that the ANB did not have any information and that the coup did not happen," Medojević said.
11:40 "Instead of the ANB informing the special prosecutor about the infernal plans, according to my knowledge, the chief special prosecutor informed the ANB and asked for assistance for the arrest," said Medojiević.
When asked by Judge Mugoša, he said that he received this information from the same anonymous source from ANB.
"I know it's from ANB because of the code it uses," Medojević said.
11:36 Medojević said that as a member of the Security and Defense Committee, he did not receive any information about the planned events on October 16, 2016.
He also said that as a member of the Security Committee, he has access to state secrets, but that he is obliged to sign a statement on keeping secrets.
"If we had communicated with members of the GRU, the ANB had a legal obligation to inform us and stop the communication," said Mandić.
11:26 Medojević, answering the questions of the lawyer Radosavljević, denied Sinđelić's allegations that he is a member of the Zemun clan.
"I have information that members of that clan are agents of the National Security Agency," he said.
11:07 Witness Medojević said that he never met and communicated with Džozef Asad, and that he does not know a person named Joran Frigan.
He confirmed that in Moscow in July 2016, together with Milan Knežević and Andrija Mandić, he met with Aron Šavi.
"We were looking for a consultant for the campaign, and Šava is known to accept difficult tasks and has a lot of experience," Medojević said.
11:01 Medojevic explained that he exchanged information with Mandić, but not with Čađenović.
"It's difficult with Čađenović, we have a good private relationship. With Mandić several times a day. We were together for seven, eight hours".
In response to Katnić's question, Medojević said that he had no knowledge that Mandić had any communication with ANB agents.
10:59 When asked by Katnić how they got the anonymous information, Medojević explained that "a Cloud environment was set up".
"It's an IT virtual environment, it doesn't matter what you access through it, and you can connect and access the resource. The prosecutor also asked me how I normally get information. Let's say I got the information in the Listing affair about the conversation of a drug cartel boss with top state officials through e-mail pahuljica.ca@gmail.com. It said strictly confidential," Medojević said.
10:50 Medojević said that it is illegal and unconstitutional to listen and monitor.
"We have no confidence in the DPS. The opposite party to us is not the state institution but the regime. We presented the key information whether there will be a gathering or not to the DPS and ANB to continue their plan, and we to come out on October 12 and say what will really be. We did that because we are under secret surveillance measures. There was no intention to deceive the prosecutor, everything we found out was checked and compared logically with our knowledge. We turned to the state institution and this will remain the history of Montenegro. that on October 16, the chief special prosecutor failed to investigate any of this,'' Medojević said.
10:41 Responding to Katnić's question where he got the information from and who provided it, Medojević replied that the information and knowledge they provided to the prosecution was their knowledge, which has been coming from ANB for years.
"We received this information in a special way, it was through an anonymous shipment. I would have announced the names of the people from ANB if I knew, because we receive all announcements related to this case anonymously. I do not have an anonymous letter because when we received them from people, most likely from ANB, we destroyed it. We didn't deliver it to the prosecutor because we don't trust him," Medojević said.
10:33 Medojevic said that Saša Sinđelić's claim that he is under the protection of the CIA is not true.
Sinđelić was not telling the truth when he said that. In 2012, I had a major political incident with the CIA when I observed and received information that a foreign resident was illegally interfering in the election process. This was done by Andrija Popov, a resident of the CIA who brought the platform from Nikšić through his courier Dritan Abazović. After we exposed him, we received a direct threat from the director of ANB and from foreign intelligence. This is the DF that works against the state and wants to destroy it, risking our lives to defend it,'' said Medojević.
10:18 Medojević explained that on October 12, DF publicly revealed the plan of the regime.
"Then nothing happens, there are no proceedings, there are no procedural actions, everything is calm. As we announce the plan, half an hour later we find out that a certain Velimirović appears and reports the case. Coincidences are possible, but in such a big political story there is so much coincidence controversial. He is now moving on to plan B. It was to hire low-ranking employees of the security services of Serbia. It is known that the security services recruit extremists in order to intimidate the general public for the needs of the government with stories that there are Chetniks, Balija... handed over to state authorities. That press release was published by all regional media. So if someone organized that attack, and one of the largest services of the GRU was behind it, they must have known that the plan had been broken already on the 12th. And that's where we come to our motive "We from the DF, who are sure winners of the election, who had a great response from the citizens, have no motive to violently overthrow the Government, we want everything to pass peacefully," Medojević said.
10:15 Medojević said that on October 12, the DF "broke the regime's plan" and did not "fall into a trap".
He explained that the core of their campaign was not to prevent Montenegro from joining NATO.
"This also calls into question the testimony of Sinđelić, who said several times that he helped us on that plan. We had information that the DPS would not allow a peaceful change of government at any cost, because we had research like they did that the DPS would not win the elections. We got information that they have prepared hooligans who when the counting of votes is over will come in our T-shirts and cause serious incidents. The headquarters of TV Pink was to be set on fire and the DPS headquarters to be attacked. They were to attack the law enforcement agencies to create legal basis for our arrest. There was also information that we would be wounded or liquidated in order to create a state of emergency similar to Erdogan's regime,'' Medojević said.
10:06 Medojević referred to the testimony of Saša Sinđelić.
"I wanted to make my contribution to this court proceeding and I will try to provide information regarding the proceedings. According to the testimony of the protected witness, I am the one whom Sinđelić is more afraid of than the former GRU operative Eduard Šišmakov, who hired him to overthrow the government in Montenegro," Medojević said.
He explained that in the presidency of the Democratic Front, he is in charge of national security issues, as a long-time member of the Security Committee.
"Based on our activities, Montenegro received positive evaluations in both European and Euro-Atlantic integration. Our interest in what could happen on October 16 is related to the peaceful protests we held a year earlier when our peaceful demonstrations were broken up in a way when a group of hooligans from the DPS premises from the old government came and threw stones at the policemen and in that way provoked the policemen. To this day, no one has been held accountable for that very dangerous provocation where someone could have been hurt. I said even then that Milo Đukanović, who was staying in the ANB center at the time. That is why I have the need and motive, together with my colleagues from the DF, to be extra careful and attentive during preparations so that the provocation of the regime does not happen again. At that time, I also said throw down the shields, join the people. The mass accepted my speech, there was chanting, commotion in the ranks of the police and, according to my knowledge, the president of the Democratic Party of Socialists then ordered to physically break up the demonstration. Fortunately, that didn't happen, but groups of masked hooligans and security-interesting persons who came from the country and abroad were sent. The aim was to cause bloodshed and to blame the DF and to eliminate political competition. That's why we paid special attention to security," Medojević said.
9:35 A break was given until 10:00 a.m.
9:23 Lawyer Dražen Medojević assessed that it is extremely inappropriate for Katnić to talk about Medojević like that and to oppose the proposal.
9:18 The special state prosecutor requests that Nebojša Medojević's psychiatric examination be conducted before his testimony because he claims that he has knowledge that he cannot distinguish "dream from reality and reality from what did not happen" and that it is a mental disorder.
9:10 Judge Suzana Mugoša said that a letter had arrived from the USA stating that Brian Scott had changed his mind and wanted to testify.
9:05 Nebojša Medojević appeared in court, while Dedeić did not and submitted medical documentation. Yesterday, he asked the court to allow him to sit during the testimony.
At 9 o'clock in the Podgorica High Court, the trial of those accused of attempted terrorism on the day of the parliamentary elections will continue.
At the last hearing, judge Suzana Mugoša read the report of the Serbian Security and Information Agency on the secret surveillance of Saša Sinđelić, which contains a record of the meeting of the witness accomplice and Eduard Širokov on October 19 in Kalemegdan, when Vladimir Popov, who was following them and photographed.
Today, Dobrilo Dedeić and Nebojša Medojević were called as witnesses.
Russian citizens Eduard Šišmakov and Vladimir Popov, who are being tried in absentia, as well as Serbian citizens Nemanja Ristić and Predrag Bogićević, are charged before the panel of judge Suzana Mugoša for the criminal offense of attempted terrorism on the day of the parliamentary elections.
Bratislav Dikić, Democratic Front leaders Milan Knežević and Andrija Mandić and Mandić's driver Mihailo Čađenović are on the dock.
The indictment includes Serbian citizens Kristina Hristić and Branka Milić, who are defending themselves from freedom, as well as their compatriots - Srboljub Đorđević, Dragan Maksić, Milan Dušić who are in custody.
The proceedings were split against DF translator Anani Nikić.
