The 18th International Podgorica Book Fair, one of the most important cultural manifestations in our country, will be officially opened on May 10 at 13 p.m. in the Music Center and at 14 p.m. at the Big Fashion fairgrounds.
The book fair will be opened at 13 p.m. in the Music Center by Tamara Vujović, Minister of Culture and Media, and Anđela Jakšić Stojanović, Minister of Education, Science and Innovation, Anne-Marie Masky, Ambassador of France, Predrag Uljarević, Director of Publishing houses Nova knjiga, Nataša Nelević, writer and Jean-Francois Galletout, writer. The program of the opening ceremony will be led by Vjera Mujović, actress of the National Theater in Belgrade. The country of honor this year is the Republic of France. The guest of honor has the opportunity to present at the Fair authors from his country, translators, publishers, distributors, as well as all those who are connected to the book in various ways.
At 14:XNUMX p.m., the French stand will be opened by Anne-Marie Masky, the ambassador of France, at the Big Fashion exhibition area.
In addition to France, the country of the guest of honor, more than 100 publishers from Montenegro, the region and Europe will be presented at the Fair.
In addition to the presentation of authors and programs at the exhibitors' stands, nearly 100 forum programs will be organized during the fair days. More than 200 writers, theoreticians, editors, translators, publishers, critics participate in the program, and daily programs for children, students and students will be arranged.
The artistic program on the first day of the Fair starts at 15 p.m. with the presentation of the school - Gymnasium "Slobodan Škerović", at 16.00 p.m. academician Miro Vuksanović presents the Collected Works. The presentation of the "Olympics of Culture - Sarajevo 2025" project, which includes the presentation of the 35th Sarajevo Book Fair and the 40th International Festival "Sarajevo Winter", is scheduled for 17 p.m. Conversations with the writers Jean-François Galt "Journeys around the land that no longer exists" and Branko Gradišnik are planned for 16 and 17 p.m.
Kristijan Novak promotes his new novel "A Case of Own Destruction" at 20 p.m., the Montenegrin edition of which has just been published by the publishing house Nova knjiga.
As part of the 18th International Podgorica Book Fair, fair prizes and recognitions will traditionally be awarded.
The opening hours of the Book Fair are from 10.30:21.30 a.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX p.m.
Tickets cost €2, ie €1 for students and pupils, and for children with their parents, the entrance is free.
