Soon after that, intensive work started, which already after five months brought visible results in several fields, despite the pressures, some of which came from the outside and some from the inside.
The commercial revenues of RTV Podgorica for the last three months are 110% higher compared to the same period last year.
Although there were continuous pressures on social networks and some private media that Gradska RTV Podgorica should be shut down, the employees and management of the local public broadcaster tried to bring it closer to the citizens of Podgorica and Montenegro, director Vladimir Otašević points out.
"There was even a case where a member of the Council of RTV Podgorica mentioned shutting down the television. It was subsequently established that that member of the Council has business ties to private television, our competitor, which is essentially a conflict of interest. So these are all situations that we had in the previous period, which, both externally and internally, had repercussions on the work of RTV Podgorica", said Otašević.
The efforts of employees and management, emphasizes Otašević, resulted in an increase in viewership, so Gradska RTV was the most watched local public broadcaster in April, according to Montenegrin Telekom data. Positive results were also recorded in the commercial part.
"Also, we have the situation that in the previous period we undertook several different activities that resulted in the commercial income, in the period of the last three months compared to the previous year, increasing by as much as 110,4%, which is really an excellent indicator of our work", he points out. Otašević.
Gradska RTV will continue to improve its complete offer in the coming period, so as of today, in honor of Independence Day, certain newspapers have been introduced, pointed out the deputy editor-in-chief Nemanja Lacman. The city portal has been redesigned, so, as Lacman points out, more videos and other content, as well as timely and truthful information, are available to all readers.
"What I can boast about are the newspapers that await us in the visual identity of our television. I would not like to reveal too much, I would like to leave it to our viewers to check what it is about, that is, to see in our news program what has changed. Also, from this place I can announce a certain expansion of Gradska RTV. I can't give more details about what exactly it is about now, but I can say that it is about enriching our program content that will contribute to the improvement not only at the level of Podgorica, but at the level of the whole of Montenegro", said Lacman.
The new program scheme will follow from September, says Lacman and adds that a special focus is placed on children's programs, but also shows from all spheres of society. Certain newspapers, he adds, have already been introduced.
"In addition to the Report, which is broadcast every Monday from 21:15 on Gradska RTV, we have three more shows that we can boast about, which have taken on a new look. In question is the economic show "Epicentar", which airs on Wednesday evenings, where we deal with all economic issues, which both worry and burden the citizens of Montenegro. On Thursdays we have a cultural show called "Artism", while on Saturdays at 20 pm we have a new show called "From the Other Side", a fun show. "We have enriched the content from the entertainment section, where we talk to public officials about their life, growing up and childhood," concludes Lacman.
This is only part of the Gradska RTV news, Lacman says and says that from September the whole range of new content will follow.
