The week of Montenegrin culture in Albania will once again confirm that the cooperation between the two countries goes beyond borders and inspires us to build a future together based on understanding and dialogue, and every artistic expression will further connect and enrich us, according to the Minister of Culture and Media, Tamara Vujović.
At the National Center for Books and Reading in Tirana, on the occasion of the Week of Montenegrin Culture in Albania, she said that literature, art, film and theater permeate together and testify to the close and friendly relations between the two countries, which are nurtured through culture and art. .
"I express my special gratitude to our hosts from the National Center for Books and Reading, as well as the Institute for Textbooks of Montenegro, who jointly presented the wealth of Montenegrin literature through a selection of the most important works translated into the Albanian language. Our theme, 'The importance of literary translation in the intercultural connection of Montenegro and Albania', highlights the role of literature as an important thread that unites our communities, inspires and enriches mutual understanding. Montenegrin literature has significant representatives, who were translated into Albanian, Radovan Zogović, Miraš Martinović, Ulcinjaku, Goranović and many others," said Vujović.
She added that the Albanian language, with its authentic melody and expressiveness, shows the beauty of translation in preserving and translating the essence of the spirit of a nation. When we see language not as a mere tool, but as a "home of being" and a bridge that connects us, through it we learn and discover each other, enriching our communities through the prism of cultural encounters.
She particularly emphasized the importance of the meeting with the National Center for Books and Reading, considering that the MKM has in its plan the establishment of a similar institution in Montenegro.
Two films, "Sirin" by Senad Šahmanović and "Roda" by Isa Qoša, which will be shown in Tirana, are the result, as she said, of co-production with Albanian partners and testify to successful cooperation in the film industry.
"Visitors are still waiting for the impressive collection of cartographic material 'Five Centuries of Boka Kotorska in European Cartography', of the Maritime Museum in Kotor, which reminds us of the rich past and cultural heritage of Montenegro. The culture of Montenegro and Albania, woven into words, customs and art, becomes a space of mutual understanding, recognition and respect," said Vujović.
"Multiculturalism respects the existence of different cultures and considers it the richness and quality of the modern world, but, unlike interculturality, it does not insist on the necessity of their interaction, but encourages changes and personal development, while at the same time nurturing and developing specific cultural elements of both sides," she said. He believes that this Culture Week will once again confirm that Montenegro and Albania are close not only geographically but also culturally. She added that cooperation transcends borders and inspires to build a future together based on understanding and dialogue.

On the second day of the Montenegrin Culture Week in Albania, the Film Center of Montenegro showed the film Sirin, a co-production between Montenegro and Albania, Croatia, Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the women's band Incanto from Kotor also performed.
