Vujović: It was almost time for Mandić to call on his war comrades again to dig up their weapons and launch a campaign against the VDT

"Mandić is losing his temper and that's why he showed his true instigator face in parliament the day before yesterday," said Vujović.

After disciplining coalition partners, Parliament Speaker Andrija Mandić is aiming for full control over the Prosecutor's Office, said Ivan Vujović, president of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and one of the leaders of the European Alliance.

"Mandić is losing his temper and that's why he showed his true instigator face in parliament the day before yesterday. He almost called on his war comrades to dig out their weapons and go on a campaign against the VDT again. It's not said that he won't do it on the next occasion," Vujović pointed out in a post on the social network X.

According to him, "such a manifestation of arrogance, force and pressure on an institution that should be independent (Constitution of Montenegro, Article 134) has never been seen before."

"We also know why - no matter how much the Prosecutor's Office turns a blind eye to the government's scandals since August 30, 2020, the fact remains that, despite a number of shortcomings in their actions, almost all of Mandić's municipal presidents are under prosecutorial suspicion for serious crimes, and that the "coup d'état" case is still alive, as are the cases of "Danilo Mandić" and the beating of the mayor of Budva by Mandić's thugs," Vujović said.

He added that "these are cases that particularly affect Mandić, who in less than two years in power has managed to link himself and his party to so many scandals, abuses and demonstrations of violence."

"That's why they are embarking on this showdown in order to force the Prosecution to turn a blind eye to these and all future misdeeds of Mandic and his phalanxes," Vujovic said.

He believes that "that is why Mandić is threatening and making noise in parliament, in the Vučić-Šešelj manner, while his coalition partners are on the verge of falling from their seats in fear."

"Some remained silent, some reacted weakly, and some, so pitifully and miserably, reacted to the trampling of their own party by attacking the former government," Vujović added.

He said that the real question is not why Mandić is doing this, but why the Prosecutorial Council and the Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Montenegro have not spoken out after these brutalities.

Parliament Speaker Andrija Mandić harshly criticized his colleagues from the ruling Europe Now Movement (PES) the day before yesterday, stating that he does not understand why they support the annual report of the State Prosecutor's Office, while at the same time accusing the institution of unconstitutionally wanting to be the fourth branch of government.

He called on Chief State Prosecutor Milorad Marković to resign and "deal with other matters," after he alleged that the institution was unconstitutionally trying to be a "fourth branch of government."

Marković later responded in the Montenegrin Parliament that he would not resign and that the prosecution service headed by him was an independent institution. He said that "certain political, interest and other spheres" expect certain cases to be dealt with and others not.
