Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz invited the prime ministers of the Western Balkan countries to Vienna on Monday for a working breakfast, reports Tanjug.

Among them is the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Duško Marković.

As Tanjug was told by the chancellor's office, the Prime Minister of Serbia Ana Brnabić, Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Zvizdić and Prime Minister of Kosovo Ramuš Haradinaj will arrive for the working breakfast.

Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, who was previously announced, canceled his visit due to internal political problems.

European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy Johannes Hahn and for Digital Economy and Digital Society Marija Gabriel will attend the meeting.

"Chancellor Kurz invited the prime ministers of the Western Balkans and two European commissioners to a working breakfast on the occasion of the Vienna Economic Forum," Tanjug was told in the Austrian chancellor's office.

It was announced that three topics will be discussed.

"First of all, the European perspective of the Western Balkans, which is one of the focuses of the Austrian EU presidency. Then, regional cooperation and bilateral conflicts will be discussed," the chancellor's office confirmed.

As Tanjug learns, Commissioner Han will give a brief overview of the current situation and development, and Chancellor Kurz will present Austria's plans for the rest of the EU presidency, while the prime ministers of the region are invited to give their views on the situation.

When it comes to regional cooperation, Commissioner Han should present the state of implementation of the agreed measures regarding the creation of a regional economic area of the Western Balkans.

Commissioner Gabriel will present the ongoing efforts regarding the digital agenda for the Western Balkans, primarily the regional agreement on roaming.

Regarding the resolution of bilateral issues and overcoming the past, the host points out that this is important for the accession process, as well as the further development of regional cooperation and old-neighborly relations in the region.

Chancellor Kurc will point out the latest developments, that is, the recent visits to Belgrade and Pristina and Vienna's efforts to help resolve bilateral issues, and encourage further progress in order to encourage European processes.

The Prime Ministers were invited to identify specific issues on which progress should be made before the next summit within the framework of the Berlin Process, which will be held in Poznań.

After the working breakfast, Kurc and the prime minister will address the media.

Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz, whose country presides over the EU, recently visited Belgrade and Pristina, where he called for the continuation of the dialogue and said that without an agreement there would be no entry into the EU.

In addition, he pointed out that the position of Austria, as well as the majority in the EU, is that all solutions resulting from the dialogue must be supported.
