The Department for Suppression of Economic Crime submitted a criminal complaint to the state prosecutor in the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Herceg Novi against a police officer of the Republic of Moldova due to the suspicion that he tried to illegally extend the stay of foreign nationals in Montenegro by abusing his official position.
"There is a reasonable suspicion that RM, while working at two border crossings, on two occasions - once on the night between April 23 and 24, 2016 and the second time on October 30, 2017, repeatedly abused his official position , entered incorrect data in the application on border records that related to the fact that certain citizens of one country entered and left Montenegro, although these persons did not cross the border of Montenegro during that period, but stayed in our territory all the time, and all in order to enable them to extend their stay on the territory of Montenegro, contrary to the regulations relating to the stay of persons in our country," the Police Administration announced.
The criminal complaint against RM was, in accordance with consultations with the prosecutor, filed in the regular procedure.
"The following are the measures and actions from the jurisdiction of the Police Administration, which relate to the determination of possible disciplinary responsibility," the police announced.
