The German car manufacturer Volkswagen (VW) expects to produce 43 percent more vehicles in its main factory in Wolfsburg next year, announced the head of the works council, Daniela Cavallo.
This is a significant improvement compared to this year, but the situation is still under the influence of the continued shortage of semiconductors, reports SEEbiz.
This year, VW expects to produce around 400 cars in Wolfsburg.
"The situation is expected to improve in the coming year, in parallel with the easing of chip supply disruptions, but the impact of the shortage will still be felt," Cavallo told the Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung.
She added that the program for next year has not yet been determined, but that at the moment the plans envisage the production of 570 thousand vehicles in Wolfsburg. "Of course, risks are also present," said Cavallo, who is also a member of Volkswagen's Supervisory Board.
