There was one organized criminal group on the territory of the municipality of Nikšić, but it was also broken up.

"In relation to the SOCT (document "Assessment of the threat of serious and organized crime in Montenegro from 2017"), one organized criminal group was identified in the area of the Nikšić Security Center. The officers of CB Nikšić, in cooperation with the Special Police Department, on the order of the special state prosecutor, in June 2018, deprived 15 persons (organizers and almost all members of the group) of their freedom due to the well-founded suspicion that they had committed 11 criminal acts and they are in to ZIKS, with which the said group was 'broken'", it is written in the answers of the police.
Then a group headed by Ranko Radulović and Erogen Brajović was arrested, and whose members, according to the indictment, planned the murder of the chief special prosecutor Milivoj Katnić and his son.
In the act of the prosecution, it is written that these liquidations should have been committed by collaborating with Igor Vukotić, who was presented as the person who formed the Skaljar criminal clan.
The Nikšić Security Center announced that in 2018, the priority in the work of police officers was to take official measures and actions aimed at "the category of security-interested persons, members of organized criminal groups and the category of feuding groups":
"With the aim of finding weapons in illegal possession and preventing the commission of serious crimes. In relation to the total number of seized weapons, 18 firearms were seized from members of organized criminal groups and persons of security interest," the police said in its response.
In ten months of 2018, police officers temporarily seized 71 firearms from citizens, 50 of which were illegally possessed.
Since the beginning of 2018, 13 criminal offenses have been registered in the area of property offenses with the most serious degree of social danger. Eight persons were prosecuted for having committed eight criminal acts of robbery, or about 62 percent, which represents a good work result", announced CB Nikšić.
"Compared to the same period in 2107, the number of seized firearms increased by 54,3 percent, when 46 pieces were seized.
Also, 59 pieces of other weapons and about 1.400 pieces of ammunition of various calibers were confiscated. In relation to the total number of weapons seized from members of organized criminal groups and persons of security interest, 18 firearms were seized," it was announced.
They explained that the crime rate in the municipality of Nikšić for ten months of 2018 fell by about 8,4 percent compared to the same period last year.
"During that period, 428 criminal offenses were registered in the jurisdiction of the Nikšić Security Center, which represents a drop in the crime rate by about 8,4 percent, i.e. 36 fewer criminal offenses compared to the same period in 2017, when 464 criminal offenses were registered. In addition to the reduction in the crime rate, the trend of achieving good work results continued when it comes to work on solving criminal offenses by unknown perpetrators. Out of the total number of registered criminal acts, 161 criminal acts or about 38 percent were registered by an unknown perpetrator. By hiring police officers, 117 crimes were solved, so that the percentage of solving is about 73 percent. "Four criminal acts from the previous period were also brought to light," said "Vijesti" from CB Nikšić.
They added that the security situation can be assessed as stable and favorable.
"The state of public order and peace during 2018 is continuously stable and favorable. In ten months of this year, 211 violations of public order and peace were registered. The assessment is based on the fact that the violations did not cause greater anxiety among citizens, nor were they the cause of significant security consequences, as well as the fact that there were no registered violations of public order and peace on a larger scale."
Fewer traffic fatalities
Four people died in traffic accidents during the ten months of 2018, while there were six in the same period last year.
From the Nikšić Security Center, they pointed out that independently or in cooperation with NGOs, they implement numerous activities with the aim of improving the situation in the field of traffic safety, as well as raising the traffic culture to a higher level.
